The POR pick is currently 14. The best it can be is 13 but we'd need the Lakers to get their act together.

DET is currently pick 10 and the stars are aligned for it to be pick 9 or 10 in 2014. The best it can be is pick 9. Toronto should vault over DET next year.

Also, does POR also owe us a 2014 pick?

Nah they owed us two first rounders and we used one year before last to trade up.for Biyombo.

actually wasn't that a pick from New Orleans? Well like Portland traded us a pick they had of New Orleans, I mean.

Yeah it was New Orleans, that pick made the rounds. I remember NO traded it to PDX in exchange for Jerryd Bayless, then it came to us in the Crash trade. We then shipped it to the Bucks when we traded up for Biz, finally they used it on Tobias Harris.

The best both those picks can be is unprotected. And the thing that they currentl oscilate around its protection is coincidence not calculation. There too many variables and subpar decison around the league to count on something. See our pick owed to Bulls or Irving one for example.

And no, only one picj from Blazers.

You can check all these things even without leaving this site undeer NBA>Draft>Future drafts etc.

McLemore is getting off right now early in this Kansas-Kansas State game.

McLemore tore it up tonight.

Crazy. I know we really need bigs but if we end up with a chance to take him I want us to.

I'll admit I am warming up to McLemore. As long as we end up with either him or Noel, we'll be fine. Shabazz as the consolation 3rd prize.

If the Wizards win the first pick I think McLemore will be there at 2. If we win the first pick, I hope we take McLemore. Like Kemba, his play will put butts in seats. I just want someone we can get excited about.

Just Imagine Ben's ability to knock down shots paired with Kemba's ability to get into the paint! :o I know many of you don't respect Kemba's passing ability, but I really believe that if Kemba played with better shooters he would get more assists. Just think about the number of times Kemba made great passes only to here clank as the next sound.

After last night my top five just realigned.
1. McLemore
2. Noel (After Mully's monster game)
3. Shabazz
4. Zeller
5. Bennett

Thanks Ichiro.

Patric Young is holding his own against Noel and Cauley-Stein right now. Already got more blocks (3) than Noel (1).

I swear, Goodwin plays like a scalded rabbit.

Doug Gottlieb's Big Board (as of 2-11-13)

1. Anthony Bennett, UNLV, Forward, 6-8, 240, Freshman: Freak athlete who is probably an undersized 4 in the league, Bennett settles too much for jumpers, gets silly fouls and is ways away from figuring out when to do what, but he can play. Bennett is a terrific rebounder, good shooter and can put it on the deck. Alongside a traditional point guard, the UNLV star will be a monster.
2. Nerlens Noel, Kentucky, Forward, 6-10, 228, Freshman: Quick-jumping power forward who is super quick, laterally and off the floor. Will be a good screen/lob man with a traditional point guard, and he protects the rim. He is raw, but developing offensively, but making strides.
3. Ben McLemore, Kansas, Guard, 6-5, 195, Freshman: Scoring wing who has the body and game to be a starter, and maybe an All-Star.
4. Cody Zeller, Indiana, Forward/Center, 7-0, 240, Sophomore: Has gone from overrated to underrated. Zeller has great footwork, gets beat up by double teams, but he is tremendous. He has patience, doesn't pout when he doesn't get the ball and is likely a combo 4/5 man.
5. Marcus Smart, Oklahoma State, Guard, 6-4, 225, Freshman: Smart is not a clean ball handler as he turns it over a lot and while he is improving shooter, that truthfully is not his game. Smart just makes plays. His body is football strong, he has a tremdous IQ and rebounds well. Smart is an NBA point guard and though he might be better coming off the bench initially, he is a better version of Jarrett Jack.
