sorry i know this is wrong just venting my frustrations bc when i asked about Harden Houston told me he was not available.

Then why didn't you offer it?

You can't fault a GM for taking this offer over a offer that was never proposed. Should he have waited to try and get maximum value? Perhaps. But don't complain that he got Harden over your offer that you never proposed.

Charlotte LOLcats:
Bismack Biyombo / Byron Mullens / Channing Frye [IR]
Demarcus Cousins / Perry Jones III / Jeff Adrien
Terrence Ross / Jeff Taylor / Alan Anderson
Marcus Thornton / Ben Gordon / Jerryd Bayless
Kemba Walker / Ramon Sessions / Tony Wroten

Ben Gordon is the Grumpy Cat of the lot. He's done being on a rebuilding team and has demanded that the Grumpy Cat logo is my avatar will be my logo until he's traded to a winning team, where his talents are best served. I will essentially give him away. Everyone else is available, although it's highly unlikely that I move DMC or Kemba for anything short of a franchise talent. Everyone on this roster is easily NBA caliber, and having all these guys is a slight waste of talent. I need to consolidate.

I would agree but this is 2 "bad trades" involving the same guy....

Seeing the big deal being made today and just receiviing a very good blake griffin offer I am placing him on the block, so to those I tturned down earlier in the game submit me ur best offer and maybe we can get a deal done.

Please tell me you're joking. You've got absolutely no concept of trade values if you think Asik is worth almost as much as Anthony Davis. Anthony Davis was recently ranked as the 7th best most valuable piece, James Harden was ranked 8th, and Omer Asik was nowhere to be found. So let's assume that Harden-Davis are a wash-ish, that means Asik/Mayo are pretty close in value? I've got no issue at all with that trade, people are just too upset that he didn't shop James Harden around.

People also need to remember that this is a trade game first and foremost.

He doesn't have to shop Harden around if he doesn't want to. The trade should be upheld.

Personally, I don't think any trade should be vetoed unless the two traders are the same person. If a person receives the bad end of a deal, it's their fault in judgement, and shouldn't punish the person smart enough to except a great deal when it hits him in the face.

For what it's worth, I mostly agree with Karmaloop and Jake. However, if I get several emails asking me to veto the deal (I currently have 3; I'd need many more) I will get a third party involved. My opinion has nothing to do with this deal.

Deals should only be vetoed in the case that it's clear that one team is sabotaging the game by giving up their players for pennies on the dollar. This isn't the case in the AD-for-Harden deal.

For what it's worth,

This Houston GM told me he wouldn't ever trade Harden unless he got Lebron or Durant.

With this deal he got ANT, but he hasn't lived up to the hype,

AND he included Asik.

He also got Mayo who is balling, but still.

I don't care I guess how it plays out, just don't lie to other GM's I guess.

Everyone's tradable, everyone, even Bron and Durant, but if Harden is untouchable don't move him for a lesser package lol.

My 2 cents.

Also, I don't like vetoes either, but if we have them in place, then we should use them.

Next game, no vetoes, GM's are responsible for their own teams.

Also next game, 250 post minimum imo

This is ridiculous.. Davis is as valuable as anybody in this game. I can't believe people want to vetoe this trade because they didnt get harden with a worse offer than I gave.

For what it's worth, I have no issue with the Harden/Davis deal. I feel Mayo's value is about equal to Asik's, as well... The Dirk for Kevin Martin deal was way worse IMO & no one said sh*t about that

Not blaming you, its just frustrating when Houston has been saying all along that he is not dealing Harden, then all of a sudden he trades him + Asik without mentioning he is shopping him. I guess its his prerogative, but you would think he would want to see what everyone else can offer as well.

Oh well.

Mayo is a free agent, and last time around this is what he got offered

Elias I'm assuming it's you who made me pay the max!!!!

So assuming this happens again, Mayo will be making just as much as Harden, and seeing the number of teams that have cleared capspace I definitely see Mayo getting a similar contract this time around.

He is not a FA. He has a P.O. Either way, I have no issue with the trade. Stop hatin & leave that man alone.

Vetoes shouldn't be in place to begin with. If the commish things it's a detriment to the game, then veto the deal. Don't listen to what others say.

And I do plan on implementing a post minimum for the next game.

I didn't want to give the commish absolute power. Not that you or I would do it, but if the commish was a championship contender and a deal like this one or the Chandler-Mayo trainwreck that preceded it then if there was any doubt, a commish would veto it to lessen the competition. This way, several GMs (I'm talking well upwards of 10) would email me and only then would I get a mediator involved. This way it's a joint effort and not one dude playing the game calling the game however he feels. So far, with all the backlash in the this thread, only 4 people have actually felt it a bad enough deal to veto. Tells you how bad a deal needs to be in order to get a veto. It makes it just about impossible. Unless something drastic happens and like ten more GMs suddenly think it's the worst trade in the history of sports, this deal stands.

Good call on the post minimum. That was my mistake to take that out.
