Look LAPD, just like the FDNY are known, notorious racist organizations--known havens for white male exclusivity and privilege.

The only thing I am sorry about is that Dorner debased himself by resorting to the historic tactics of his tormentors and that is the use of violence. People who are subjected to white racism should never respond by reacting violently because you are in effect acting just like them. Respond by being rational and non-violent like Dr. King was!

You are right on point, LAPD will try everything to make him out to be "animal".

It wasn't his cabin. This wasn't a strategic development with him ending up in there. I can't confirm but all info leads to him being dead via a self-inflicted gunshot wound shortly after setting the cabin ablaze. I highly doubt he escaped out of there alive.

I wish he would have gone the way of Serpico. And it would have been much easier to expose the corruption in today's world with all the technology we have as opposed to that of the early 1970's. But him killing people has lost me...

Dorner killed a black guy and an asian girl and a white guy. Don't get caught up in semantics. I could just as easily say he's an animal simply because he was being tracked and hunted like an animal and not because he's a vengeful murderer.

The cabin looks like its almost completely burned down and they said the cops/snipers/etc on watch were more relaxed, smoking cigarettes, guns not drawn, etc. Reports saying LA Mayor and Police Chief will be there at 9PT.

"Highly likely" its over from Commander Smith via cbs LA

I'm not arguing with "they just want him to be crazy." Or whether or not he was ill. But your idea that he's not mentally ill because he allegedly knew he was doing something wrong is completely wrong.

According to a law enforcement source, police had broken down windows, pumped in tear gas and blasted a loud speaker urging Dorner to surrender. When they got no response, police deployed a vehicle to rip down the walls of the cabin "one by one, like peeling an onion," a law enforcement official said.

By the time they got to the last wall, authorities heard a single gunshot, the source said. Then flames began to spread through the structure, and gunshots, probably set off by the fire, were heard.

More Details:

Dorner's body has not been found. The police search will be focused in the basement area, the source said.

A tall plume of smoke was rising from the area where the standoff occurred. Hundreds of law enforcement personnel swooped down on the site near Big Bear after the gun battles between Dorner and officers that broke out in the snow-covered mountains where the fugitive had been eluding a massive manhunt since his truck was found burning in the area late last week.

Law enforcement personnel in military-style gear and armed with high-powered weapons were involved in a tense standoff after Dorner took refuge in the cabin Tuesday afternoon.

One San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy died of his wounds after he and another deputy were wounded in an exchange of gunfire outside the cabin in which hundreds of rounds were fired, sources told The Times. The deputy was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he died of his wounds.

The afternoon gun battle was part of a quickly changing situation that began after Dorner allegedly broke into a home, tied up a couple and held them hostage. He then stole a silver pickup truck, sources said.

Then Dorner was allegedly spotted by a state Fish and Wildlife officer in the pickup truck, sources said. A vehicle-to-vehicle shootout ensued. The officer's vehicle was peppered with multiple rounds, according to authorities.

Dorner crashed his vehicle and took refuge in a nearby cabin, sources said. One deputy was hit as Dorner fired out of the cabin and a second deputy was injured when Dorner exited the back of the cabin, deployed a smoke bomb and opened fire again in an apparent attempt to flee. Dorner was driven back inside the cabin, the sources said.

SO a man who goes on a killing spree using police corruption as his justification isn't an "animal". Cmon all you people who are putting him up on a pedestal sound straight foolish! What if one of his victims (several of whom were innocent in the matter) were a family member of yours? Or even better what if you were family to LAPD and this psychopath was targeting you? Yeah LAPD is just spinning it in their favor...this guy is a total saint.

Oh ok, my bad. Didn't know the article from the LA Times was that old. Nevertheless the details of how it unfolded weren't posted so there it is.

Thank god he ate a bullet. If he was put on trial it would have made the OJ case seem like some frivolity from Caso Cerrado

If you look all the white mass murderers, they are usually called mentally ill, but a black who avenges against his racist tormentors at LAPD is an "animal." That's the difference.

Dorner should not have resorted to violence because that is lowering himself to the level of his white racist tormentors. Blacks must learn that you don't fire with fire. you fight fire with water! That is what Dr. King advocated.
