Put me down for Porter as well, he is in my top 5 somewhere. Batum and Tayshaun Prince are good comparisons for what he should be like at the next level. I think Tayshaun with better rebounding might be about right, he doesnt seem to have the athletecism of Batum. He has the same high IQ of a guy like Tayshaun though, too. Doesnt need the ball in his hands to impact a game, moves well off the ball to shift the defense, and can knock down the open J or make a smart cut to the basket. That is pretty much perfect for us, can you imagine our defense? Wall/Beal/Porter would be the best defensive back court/wing combo in the entire league. Who would come close? Now think Wall/Beal/Porter/Nene/Okafor. Once Porter works out the NBA game, there hasnt been a defensive juggernaut like that since that Pistons team midway through last decade.

I think im getting a bit excited and carried away here.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Speaking of getting carried away, Noel's injury looked really bad. You could see his instant recognition that he hyperextended his knee as was trying to make sure it stopped bending the wrong way. Often that injury is a torn ACL. Hopefully, it's just an MCL sprain.

I'd still take Noel if he were available when the Wiz picked.

We're talking top 5? I wouldn't take him. If he tore his ACL, that's a 9-12 month injury. You might as well trade the pick.

The contact looked really hard. He might have broken a bone.

Nerlens's injury means this draft class just took a gigantic hit. If it's serious, I wonder if he'll still declare?

I would too. Basically a draft and stash pick at that point. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise? Maybe it means he'll be available to us when we pick now.

Maybe the injury will knock him out of the top 3 and into the range where we pick.

Reminds me of the Kenyon Martin injury, and he still went #1. Of course, a "clean" break has better odds of full recovery than a major knee injury, so it may not be a proper comparison. I do hope it's minor, and he doesn't try to rush back just because his coach thinks he can make a postseason run and.... oh wait, we're talking about basketball here, right?

Of course you take Noel if he is available, no questions asked.

Who knows if Washington gets another high lottery selection. Washington has to maximize the potential of the pick and go with the best player available even if the rookie season ends up being a throw away.

If he falls you still take Noel IMO. The talent there is too big. Assuming a 12 month recovery if it is what everyone fears, Okafor could hold down the fort till the trade deadline and Noel could learn the necessary nuances about being a rim protected in the mean time. I'm hoping it isn't an ACL though, Noel deserves to go #1 IMO, I don't wanna see him lose that due to injury.

Muhammad is the perfect fit, this team needs a scorer, not more defense.

I'd take Bazz over Noel, no question.

Wall
Beal-Crawford
Muhammad-Ariza
Nenê-Singleton-Vesely-Booker
Okafor-Seraphin

Obviously, a good back-up PG, vet one, it's a need, and trading Crawford, Booker and pobably Vesely for 1st round picks or good players in not horrid deals too.

I'd still take him if he's there in the draft.

Nerlens was going to take a good 3 years to really be effective at this level...this injury just adds another year to that.

Not sure if we have the time for it.

A Noel selection is a move for a future after Okafor and Nene, that's the way I look at it.

I'll take Oladipo as a consolation price though, assuming he declares, I have a feeling he'll end up the best pick out of the litter.

The way he brings it on both ends is what separates him from the others, even if his offense is still a work in progress, you can't discount the competitiveness and intensity he brings with him.

He might be a bit undersized as a small forward, but he makes up for his height with endless effort and off the charts bball IQ. Great player to watch, I could imagine a lineup of Wall, Beal and Oladipo being quite entertaining to watch.

I'd take Oladipo in the mid first round, but definitely not a lottery pick.

I actually think this draft is deep in good young prospects. No one is a clear superstar, but there's value in #13-#19 picks.

If we came out with two of either Noel, Oladipo, or Porter, then I would consider this an extremely successful draft.

With Nene and Okafor, we'd have the luxury of a year to work with him and get him back to speed.

But yeah, he needs game experience in addition to film study and practice. But he's going to be a player in the NBA.

If Noel tore multiple knee ligaments he ain't getting drafted in the lottery. That gets a GM fired. A team like the Spurs or even Heat could take him and sit him out for the year. Rumors are he tore everything to tearing a patella tendon. If we get the 4th pick and Noel is drafted, Ernie needs to be fired on the spot. There's no guarantee Noel will ever get back to what he once was before this injury.

X-ray was negative, waiting on his MRI.

Sucks, I was hoping he would beat Davis' blocks record.

I don't think he comes out this year. He'll probably pull a Blake Griffin. If that's the case, it'd be a pretty good time to trade with the Bobcats or Suns for their 2014 pick. Between Parker, Wiggins, the Harrison twins, and a bionic Noel, 2014 has some serious can't-miss blue chip talent.
