Every up and coming team has to see the 6th-8th seed before growing into a contender unless you acquire a Big 3 overnight like the Celtics and Heat did. That's the reason why I never understand why some of our posters use that 'treadmill' word every time somebody mention bringing in some real talent.

I can here the protests against "treadmill" additions now. But what I would give to match their potential Rudy Gay - Carlos Boozer power move with a Danny Granger - Al Jefferson or something along those lines.

Toronto still kept their rebuild players like Derozan, Ross and Amir Johnson.

Charlotte would still have Kemba, MKG, Biyombo and either McLemore, Shabazz, Noel, Bennett or Smart.

The way how this organization has handled the past couple of years I'm pessimistic to believe that any decent player like Al Jefferson or Paul Milsap would be willing to sign with us during the back-end of their career as a rebuilding team. Our perception around the league is an embarrassment at this rate. Only a knucklehead like Josh Smith would be willing to sign with us since we may be the only team desperate enough to pay him the max contract that he want. That's the way the cookies crumble I guess.

MasterIchiro wrote:I feel the same bitterness towards not landing Rudy Gay. Some trades just don't work out I guess. The interest was there as Higgins was saying they were willing to go far to acquire him. Now he's the guy in Toronto and their fans have something to cheer about. Now they're reportedly trying to add Boozer as well, another guy I wanted here.

At some point you just want to watch a team succeed and you will settle for a 6 seed without lottery picks and fantasies of better tomorrows.

Toronto has done and excellent job shifting from rebuild to win-now mode. Hopefully we will be as fortunate.

Maybe somewhere down the line we pick up a pricey star like Danny Granger.

I completely disagree. If the season restarted right now I honestly do not thing the Raptors would make the playoffs. They are screwed as far as their salary cap goes for years and traded away Davis after all the time they invested in him, and he finally began to show some promise which was stupid. Gay shot 9-25 tonight and hit a big shot, but at the end of the day I am thrilled we didn't trade for him.

Now if we were to trade for a post player with his kind of talent instead of a wing that would be a completely different story,

Drummond is out 4-6 weeks with a broken tailbone.

Im actually thrilled, perhaps people will now talk about other players other than him and Lillard in the rookies thread on the general board.

Based on stats alone, Sessions aka player B.

nice job catch22

those are the road splits for kemba (A) and sessions (B). sessions actually has slightly better road splits than his home splits, while kemba is night and day compared between road and home. we've talked about it several times this year, but i am having a hard time remembering a player who had a more dramatic difference between his play at home and road. kemba is a sure-fire all-star player at home and a complete mess on the road.

The Celtics-Nuggets game goes into double overtime. Good job, Nuggets! Tire them out.

Glad we got rid of Wallace when we did. He's pretty mediocre now and it can be argued he has one of the 5 worst contracts in the league.

Been reading the GB, I see.

Give me Wallace's contract over Joe Johnson, Gay, Gasol, Biedrins, Richard Jefferson, Stoudemire, Tyrus, Bargnani, Booz, Nene, and whichever other garbage contracts I'm forgetting.

Nah. I try to stay away from the GB. Was just watching the Nets Spurs game tonight and googled his stats to see him averaging 9 and 5. Absolutely terrible contract. Glad we sent him packing.

I don't miss Wallace, Jackson, Diaw or Felton.

I would've like to have gotten something for Tyson Chandler though.

Jealous of the Raptors. It seems they got competitive and fun to watch overnight. They are beating good teams lately. 3 wins in a row.
