Cleveland makes the most sense for Smith, reunite him with Norv. Line is very good already, will let him get comfortable and step up to throw. They also have ample cap room to absorb his deal.
It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game

Richardson can also prevent him from having to throw too many passes every game, too.

Cleveland seems like a good fit for Alex, but not necessarily the Niners - aka what would they give for him? Obviously the #6 is nowhere near being in play but I feel like we can do better for him than a 3rd rounder, especially when we're expected to have 3 already.
Any chance we could convince them to do something like Smith + 3rd for their 1st rounder next year?

I don't know if the Niners can pry a first rounder from them. The Browns can say that they're negotiating for Flynn.

Probably not, but it's worth a try
