A little premature now I would think.

I dunno. The way the season is going and after this you have to worry he's not going to resign. So you have to think now should he be traded while we can.

Right now I would trade anyone as long as we get a good deal.

Lou sent both players home and he said the fight continued in the clubhouse.

EDIT: Now he says that Barrett's lip got cut up and he doesn't know if anyone is hurt. Greaaaaatttt

Really a sad day in Cubdom. Meltdown. They probably will get rid of both players. There is absolutely no excuse to fight between teammates during the game. This will probably have repercussions. However, I admire die-hard Cub fans.....they continue to pack Wrigley and root for probably the worst sports team in all of professional sports. Isn't it like a 100 years since the won a World Series? I myself really don't follow baseball but I do know the Cubs are usually eliminated from contention by the summer.

lou's not the type of manager that will get them sent off he'll make them play together especially since they are important to this team.

barrett is not important to this team . . . if barrett doesnt hit he is useless, maybe the worst catcher in the major league . . . i watch almost all of the cubs games and barrett makes too many mistakes... z has been bad too but id rather see barrett go than z. This might fuel the team, because besides A-Ram and Lee this team has been very inconsistent . . . players that have to go Jones, Murton, Eyre, Barrett, Izzy . . . and soriano needs to step it up, he has been a huge disapointment

This isn't the first time two teammates have fought. No way we get rid of them because of one conflict.

I bet they get rid of Barrett before they get rid of Zambrano. Barrett's already criticized (correctly) for his defense and handling of pitchers, and this is about a dozen times now that he's had trouble with fighting.

Zambrano is a young potential ace that....aw f it, get rid of both of them. Who the hell fights their own teammates? They didn't even do it right, they both looked like sissies slapping each other.

We don't have anything to back Barrett up with though. Blanco went on the DL with a serious injury today and they called up Hill today who isn't that great.

I'm sure Hendry doesn't want to give up on this season yet officially....but man, we aren't going to contend this year. At any rate, I could see him going to a team like Philly for one of their mediocre guys and a prospect.

I don't see anyone on this team getting traded unless we are totally out of it. Remember as of right now we are only 7 games out of first place.

Sure, but they'd no doubt listen to offers that would stand to improve themselves. Right now the best thing to do might be to trade Z to the highest bidder and get as much as possible for him. Starting pitching really hasn't been our problem, and well, Zambrano isn't exactly the reason why it hasn't been a problem.

Yeah you mine as well trade him when he is worth something but now after GMs see this incident it might worsen his trade value.

I don't think it hurts his trade value so much as it expedites the process. GMs see this and they start salivating because they know if they can put the right package together sooner rather than later, they'll get him.

Both of the NY teams would kill to get him and would probably put together some decent packages in so doing. Nobody is going to try to lowball the Cubs because they don't want to risk losing out to another team's better offer.

We could probably unload someone else along with him as well, preferably Jones. :P

theres no reason to trade zambrono or barratt and I definatly think barratt's got some value the guy was hitting well over 300 last year before he got hurt and he's shown some potential in the power department too...no reason to even think about trading either
