The Magic thing was mentioned in this thread a couple hours ago.

Yeah, I have a hard time believing that Orlando thing. But, maybe Hammond figured that pairing Ellis with Reddick would be preferable to the current setup. I'd be pretty livid if we made that move, though.

If that's true and I were Hammond I would tell Jennings that straight up to let him know how he's valued around the league. This is assuming, of course, that Brandon really is demanding out.

Exactly. Tell Baddy and his agent the deals we'll do otherwise were going to match, cause Kohl is old and rich he'll just do it out of spite, and let them do some work if they want it so bad. Sick of being the pincushion for these loser agents.

The Paschke and Telly analysis of this issue tonight will be Riveting. I don't think I've been more excited for the halftime player interview since the last time Carlos Delfino tormented the closed caption writers.

I believe the source was a link from some twitter account, not sure if it's someone respected though.

I honestly think Jennings killed what little value he had around the league. If I was a bucks fan I would be happy with a TPE or a late draft pick for the guy. No way in hell I would want my team signing him to a huge contract.

As a controllable RFA if more than one team is interested in him he has more value than that. If not he wont be up for a very big contract this summer and we should play it out and take that hammer to him rather than getting junk - at least make someone do damage to their cap future. But then again you may be right, I'm a spiteful sob.

I don't like Jennings and don't feel his value is all that high but I'd be lying if I said I didn't think there would be 10+ teams offering a filler/1st for Jennings.

From ESPN Insider:

Milwaukee's 25-year-old stretch forward Ersan Ilyasova is a name that continues to come up in trade rumors, for several reasons. On one hand, he is young, talented and shows flashes of brilliance. The problem is he's continually plagued by inconsistency and is due to earn $7.9 million in each of the next three seasons after this one.

The Bucks have some leverage here since 2012 first-rounder John Henson looks like a keeper, and may be willing to move Ilyasova for the right package. And according to Steve Kyler of HoopsWorld.com, several teams have already shown interest.

"... Ilyasova has market value; both the Raptors and the Nets have made overtures for him," Kyler writes. "However, it does not look like either is eager to pay a premium to the Bucks for their troubles. If there is a dark horse play at the deadline it might be Ilyasova, especially if Toronto and Brooklyn swing and miss on other options."

Just speculation here, but one possibility that would make a lot of sense would be an Ilyasova-for-DeMar DeRozan swap. That'd give Milwaukee the talented young swingman and allow them to move forward with a young frontcourt of DeRozan, Henson and Larry Sanders. Meanwhile, Toronto would have a player similar on the offensive end to Andrea Bargnani but also someone younger, less expensive and more committed to rebounding.

On a side note I really appreciate the info people bring on here because I draw the line at monitoring the 140ish character PMS thoughts/whims of an NBA 20s yearold :D

I don't get it either, while yes the Bucks need efficient scoring, I really don't like the idea of taking a chance on Gordon. One he's making $15 million a year at arguably the least important position on the court. Unless you have a Wade, Ginobili, Harden who can score efficiently and create for others/do other positive things on the court (Gordon hasn't shown that in college or NBA) should you be spending a ton on a SG. Then you add the injuries on top of it...ugh pass.

You do realize SG is arguably the weakest position in the NBA right now, right?

Here's my thing: what do you guys want to spend money on? A very good 24 year old prospect that has had past injury issues, or the leftovers in this years FA crop? Because we're going to have to add a big piece to even get to the league minimum salary.

We'd all love it if Harden was all of a sudden available, but that isn't happening.

I don't think he's very good is the problem. I'd rather pay for a stop gap SG in FA on the cheap or better yet get Jared Dudley than use assets to get Gordon if the goal is to be competitive. If Gordon was a difference maker and had injury concerns, I'd be willing to take the risk (say a Steph Curry).

If Ellis opts out and Jennings gets an offer the bucks don't want to match, they'll need to something like $15-20 million to meet the minumum depending on the draft picks. I think they could fill out the roster with 1 year contracts to maintain flexibility in the likely event they can't lure a difference maker in.

Couldn't be more pleased if this is true. Hopefully we can move on from him. He clearly overrates his own talents and I'm sick of waiting for his potential. Trader John better be manning the phones. Any young prospects or picks would be best.
