Raps fan here following Calderon's progress in Detroit. When I saw Turk's name I just had to get my 2 cents in, as he was on our team and we signed him to that ridiculous contract.

I have to say getting Turk for a top 5 pick is NOT worth your time and effort especially in the 2013 Draft. Overall he was a huge negative influence in Toronto and had some major character issues. He was off with an 'injury' and spotted that night in a bar during one of our games (or right around that time).

Honestly Maggette is a far superior player and his expiring contract is worth much more to you guys than taking Turk on for a year longer. Turk's a system player at best and was highly overrated in his first tenure with Orlando

I don't think we can use the amnesty clause on players acquired after the rule came out.

Rule was for anyone signed long-term BEFORE the rule and also team specific. Whatever team said player was on when the amnesty rule went into effect, only that team could amnesty him.
