Bucks offered Jennings in a JJ trade. Hennigan said no. Smart.

How legit is this guy?

Jennings is a pretty good return for JJ. Even if Jennings doesn't fit our rebuilding plans I would be surprised if Rob actually turned this deal down because Jennings has trade value. Seems like a great opportunity to get a 3-way deal going. Rob must have another deal he lined up he likes, because he could have had Rudy Gay, who also could have been involved in a worthwhile 3-way deal.

Offering Jennings in a JJ trade is much different from offering Jennings for JJ in a trade.

Saving money, in this case, isn't about saving money. It's about establishing the culture of a self-sustaining, small market team. It's about making sure our ball club doesn't sign a Rashard Lewis contract again (or trade for a Gilbert Arenas contract). If players look at our front office as one that overspends, then second-tier talents (ie. Rashard) would gladly take our first-tier salaries which would destroy flexibility.

True, we could gradually ease into the cost-cutting methodology. But Otis really messed up the culture that a complete 180 in operations is an okay alternative.

Magical isn't legit. He (she?) throws out all sorts of rumors, usually with qualifiers, hoping something sticks. A negative rumor, which is completely unverifiable, is the perfect rumor to post for him.

i'd imagine Hennigan would've explored 3-way options. my guess is that Jennings doesn't hold much value with the kinds of teams we'd like to be including in that 3-way. there seems to be a few teams that might consider Jennings and his upcoming payday an upgrade at PG.... but maybe he's not held in such high esteem?

Atlanta - got nothing we want.
Dallas - Mayo and Crowder are their best pieces, and i wouldn't give JJ up for them. (Mayo will get a big payday this summer)
Detroit - with Calderon and Knight there, they're pretty set. i'm not sure if they've soured on Knight as the future, or how happy they are to pay out, but they've got some nice pieces, which they aren't likely to trade just for Jennings (Monroe/Drummond). 2014 pick?
Miami - don't have anything we need.
New York - don't have anything we need.
New Orleans - personally, i'd prefer Vasquez (cheaper, better facilitator), but beyond Rivers, i can't see who they'd be willing to trade that would be worth it. 2014 pick?
Phoenix - they've just signed Dragic. might have soured on him already? regardless, they don't have much that i like. 2014 draft pick? (Phoenix have a history of not appreciating good draft picks, so this would be our best chance)
Sacramento - Tyreke?? that could actually be a solid swap for all teams. (depending on how much extra we had to chip in for Jennings.)
Utah - Millsap/Favors/Burks are all pieces i'd take back. Millsap doesn't hold value since he's due for a payday this summer. Favors is too good for Utah to give up. Burks isn't enough.

Henny can see Jennings is, a self absorbed chucker. Good call by Henny. Such a trade would be an insult to Meer and JJ while changing the culture for all the young Magic players to add a malcontent to this roster. Like I said, he is fun to watch when he is hot, but Magic need to add chemistry, consistency and team players.

I find him pretty legitimate. He doesn't just spew stuff. He usually gives reason behind what he is saying. You always have to take what you hear from any "insider" with a grain of salt. But he is 100% better than any media outlet person. Esamples: Kyler, Rudolph, Pingalore, etc...

Well, Moldy_Hobo actually was the first to report a few things. (matching Gortat, the Brandon Bass signing)

Magical has...... gotten nothing right. Ever. His claim to fame is being "the first to report Orlando's interest in Chris Paul".......

Even MagicConfid got something right once (Bogans trade for Brandon Hunter).....

Talking with a friend of mine and we thought of this trade idea. See what you all think.

Keep in mind that draft picks are not able to be added in the trade machine but for the sake of the trade Utah gives us their 2014 1st round pick

Do you all do it?

That does not make him a legit insider. He is likely just using common sense and piecing together relevant info to come up with a plausible trade scenarios. Jennings and JJ have been in trade rumors for a while now, especially this week. It's no secret that their respective teams are looking to move them. He just connected them. I bet he even checked this forum to see our willingness to let go of JJ and what we thought of Jennings.

The problem is he keeps getting mentioned on this forum every february and summer, so the newcomers see the tweets and his username and think he's a real source... then they start posting his tweets months later... rinse and repeat. Nothing wrong with following him and thinking he makes some interesting points, but I have seen nothing to suggest he actually has a credible source in the organization. If he did and wanted to leak information, he would not be posting the rumors on an amateur account on Twitter. He'd be getting paid for it behind the scenes at Yahoo or ESPN. There's big bucks in being a source for those networks.

Yes, check a few pages back I think. Apparently someone said Henny turned down the offer.

Hesitant to roll with the story from Magical. He/she always tweets at very opportune and convenient times. Story breaks that the Magic may be in the hunt for Jennings, then tweets that Rob turned down offer of JJ for Jennings.
