Kawhi Leonard Unleashed

Post#1 » by co_laper » Tue Feb 12, 2013 4:24 am

Anybody watched the Bulls game?

I mean.. OMG!!! I'm pretty sure that even the coaches and players on the bench was surprised. There was a point where Budenholzer got up from his seat after Kawhi's drive to the basket.

You get to saw everything tonight. He was just hitting everything. Midrange shots, slashing to the basket, 3 pointers, even some post ups. The greatest thing to see is that he's asking for a pick, and then he aggresively attacks the basket. I've watched every Spurs game this year, and he ran the P&R more times today than the entire season. How many P&R did he run the whole season? Once? If I missed more, perhaps there were two. He ran it quite a lot today. And he took it to Luol Deng and anybody.

I sure hope this is a turning point offensively for Kawhi. Get Kawhi more plays. I really hope this carries over to the next game. His confidence level today was extremely high. His most aggresive game as a Spur easily.

He had the ball in his hands more in the Cleveland game rather than simply waiting in the corner.

Then he hit the game winning 3... :D

Well, understandably not as aggresive as the Bulls game with the big 3 back, but he definitely wasn't as passive as the games before it. I hope he keeps this up. What I'm starting to really enjoy seeing is Kawhi at the block. He's quite physical when it comes to posting up. He looks for contact. Sjax is the same way too when Jax is posting up. I hope he gets that from Jax.

He's a lot like Jax but with a more efficient shot selection and less playmaking ability (Captain Jack averaged 6.5 assists in Golden State in 2008, fwiw).
