Tyreke Evans and his future in Sacramento.
Tyreke has been disappointing since his rookie year, but are the Kings really ready to give up on him?
He's been playing well as of late, but they did not extend an offer to him this offseason and he could very well walk away. Is that what Kings' fans want?
This season he is posting career highs in FG% and 3pt% and his usage is way down, and he isn't producing in the assist column as he usually has. Is this a good look for Tyreke or does he deserve a bigger role?

We should at least hang on to him until new management company send and can groom these players to be in the players at their capable of being you trade him and watch Him become Stephon curry blew up at Golden State after they got rid of that idiot Smart and crappy management from top to bottom. Everybody should be available to moce minus DMC and Reke we already have a Westbrook/Durant type core why start all over when new ownership will right all the wrongs of the Maloofs?

You keeper three because talent like his doesnt grow on trees. we need a coach that knows how to use players more effectually and we need someone at sf that is a dead eye shooter. otherwise we keep three.

I am a firm believer if they would let him grow into a role you'd see a better player. He's a jack of all trades master of none type. They way we're going about developing him is to have him master all the trades. It will take a while...

I'm with you guys, I think you should keep Reke. He's a good player he just needs shooters around him and instead of adding shooters Sacramento added James Johnson who is a PF in a SF's body. I'm a Cavs fan and I think the Casspi-Hickson trade was bad for both parties, Casspi could have developed there into a nice shooter now he's a bench warmer.
Smart is a bad coach IMO. I watch as many Kings games as I can and I must say most of the time it doesn't look like you guys are running plays. No coach should be ok with DMC getting the ball at the top of the key and expecting something to come of it. His offense breeds inefficiency.

Sad thing is with so many things up in the air right now, I wouldn't be surprised to see Evans walk this summer. I just don't know what kind of bind Petrie is in right now beyond his self imposed one of recent years.

What are some likely landing spots for Tyreke?
I kind of want him to go to Milwaukee, play with Jennings. Some people would think that it would be a bad combo but Tyreke excels next to combo guards that can shoot. I think they both help eachother

No he's not. Not at all. He's a master of driving to the hoop and finishing, and a master of missing jumpers (although he has gotten a little better lately). A jack of defense and playmaking, sure, but he definitely looks like a specialist with other abilities.
Point being, a guy can't be a jack of all trades if he can't shoot.

I think its fair to say Tyreke is a jack of all trades minus shooting. His IQ has gotten a lot better this past year or two

I hope the Kings can sign Reke for the long term and have a proper set of coaching minds around him to realize his potential.

Same here.. I was a reke hater and supported cuz before..but it's tough building your team through a knucklehead who cries alot.. Im about just done to trying to cover up his issues.. Reke on the other, even though plagued with injuries has really shown some improvement this year.. I won't overpay for him though...

Its funny. Way back when Kevin Martin was traded (and I was arguing with people against it), I predicted that people would eventually want Tyreke traded. When that moment came to fruition (and I was arguing with people against that as well), I then predicted that sooner or later, people would THEN want Cousins traded as well, based on our track record as fickle fans. Now that that moment is upon us, I ask you... what now? Will Marcus Thornton be next to get axed? Isaiah Thomas? Do we blow it up again, even though we don't even have anything TO blow up in the first place? Where do we go from here? (And don't say Seattle)

If there was some semblance of a front office and authority from the top down I think we wouldn't be as fickle. All we want and need is some ownership who is committed to winning, a front office that can actually make moves based on bettering the team and not the bottom line and coaching that has some idea of what they are doing rotation and development wise.

I agree, Westphal was awful and now Smart is clueless. The Maloofs did a disservice to Sacramento and the entire NBA by running that franchise into the ground.
Now moving forward, what players do you think need to stay?

Let him start at PG. Thomas is not a long term solution at that position, and we all know Reke can get it done. This article is also interesting..

Re: Tyreke Evans and his future in Sacramento.
I used to think I.T. was not a long term solution but he's getting better, too! With that being said Thomas is proving he can be a serviceable starting PG. Reke is shooting a better 3pt% than Isaiah Thomas this season and the same as Thornton. In actuality Reke's shooting numbers are up this year. The thing that is down is his shot attempts, minutes, and his role on offense. Last night is more the exception.
The reason he's not a 20/5/5 guy any more is simply he plays 7 less minutes a game and takes 5 fewer shots. He does not have the role on the team to produce like that anymore. If you were to tell me you can have a guy produce 20 points a night on 11 shots a night that would be unheard of. Kevin Martin was close, but that is crazy efficient. If he was getting the same about of playing time I think the assist and rebound numbers would return. I don't see how you reduce someone's role and expect the same numbers? Even with that I just don't think Reke is having a bad year. He's just not used as a franchise or all star player. I'd like to get back to using him in that role. We need more Reke.

I say move him back to PG, we know he's not a traditional PG, but he needs the ball to ball to get back to REKE R.O.Y. I remember how excited I was during his rookie year, not it's just, meh. Get Smart out of here and get a real coach who help Reke and Cousins reach that All-Star talent they possess.

Not that I have a vested interested in the Seattle Supersonics anymore, but from an objective point of view, I'll chime in. Let him walk or trade him for whatever. When he does well, the Kings lose. He's so ball-dominant, his teammates just glaze over when he does his thing and nothing good happens on net. Sure he gets his stats, but he's not good enough for his stats to carry any team in this league to wins. We've seen four years of this. He's no second coming of D-Wade or anything close. He'll never make an all-star team. And he's a terrible complement to Cousins, and has no team chemistry with anybody for that matter.
