He's a great player and I'm a fan, esp after seeing those pepsi commercials lol, but this talk like he's the next Isiah needs to slow down. Unbeliveable scorer, but he still needs to prove he's an actual PG and not just a scorer.

Great, great scorer, but no way in the world would I trade Drummond for him. Especially wouldn't trade Drummond AND Monroe. So I can't see how he alone is better than our core.

id much rather have kyrie than drummond. kyrie is a proven star already, he has unbelievable ball handling, can shoot, and can make a nice pass if needed. of course drummond theres nothing wrong with dre and he fits our team much better as it is so a trade wouldnt make sense, but id much rather have kyrie to build around than almost anyone currently in the league

Definitely wouldn't trade both Moose and Drummond for him, but rejecting Kyrie for Drummond would be silly. Have you see what he's done to teams in the fourth quarter? His impact/skill level far exceeds most point guards in the league. Chris Paul is the only PG that I feel is more skilled. Kyrie is a franchise player. Drummond is a top bigman prospect who has loads of potential, but let's not act like he's already a franchise player...he still has a ways to go before becoming an all star first.

When I said Irving alone makes their core better, I meant that his presence elevates their core as a whole. Not by himself. Kyrie/TT/Waiters/Zeller is a pretty good core, and I'm not a fan of TT/Waiters. In fact, I would go as far as to say that Waiters is a chucker.

I would NOT trade Drummond for Kyrie.

Defense wins championships in the NBA, and Kyrie, as great as he is, plays zero defense. Besides, Howard/Shaq level big men are much rarer than great PG's.

That all said, I'd love to have both those guys on my team.

Kyrie missed a significant amout of time in his one yr.in colledge, his first yr. in the nba and has been hurt, and missed time this yr.Until I see him play a full yr. without injury I wouldn't trade drummond for him.Three yr's in a row with injuries seems like the start of a bad pattern to me.

I don't base my opinion of players on "star" ability. I base it on championship ability. How many all-star games you play in means nothing. You can build dynasties around big men like Drummond. Irving will be lucky to win 1 championship. Unless you're 6-9 and named Magic, PGs just don't lead teams to many championships. Especially ones that don't play defense.

You can have the guy with the fancy plays that goes home early in the playoffs. I'll take the guy who dominates the paint on both ends and can lead us to multiple championships.

^I would also take the guy who dominates the paint on both ends of the floor over the fancy player. Have you seen any of those guys around here by any chance? Let me know if you do.

Dre has a waaaaaays to go before becoming dominant offensively. Let's wait till he becomes an actual threat on the ball first, which I do believe he will become within the next two years. Dominate is a strong word. As of now he has stretches of defensive dominance and dominance on the boards both offensively/defensively, but much like Ibaka/DeAndre Jordan, he has on ball one on one defensive lapses that I think he will eventually work out with more experience.

Regardless, that hypothetical trade scenario will never come up and Dre is here to stay. Our team will go as far as he/Knight/Moose take us and he has a chance to be an elite center. Not bad for the 9th pick in a relatively weak draft.
