I like Drake, he's always shown a lot of love for T-Dot, but find his music underwhelming.

Drake is extremely talented and when he's on his game he kills tracks he is definitely one
of the best rappers in the game today and the grammy he just won backs him up.

The problem I find is he's done to many love songs that are cheesy that's been over kill.
Give Drake a good beat and let him flow and he's at his best I can't think of to many songs
that he's collaborated on where he didn't own the song.

He's still got a lot of upside and we haven't seen the best of him yet I think he has top 10 ever
upside and talent and he seems to have a good head on his shoulders and isn't a punk or try hard
like so many other rappers. I'm glad he's from Toronto it's funny that he's way more popular in
the States then here.

Drake is such a fake. He is a Heat "fan" every other day. Now a Raptor wins something and he has to put on the Canadian pride act. Sad.

Yeah, when he Raps he's decent (nothing great). My favourite verse was stay schemin but thats when he was under pressure and had to respond to common. But most of his albums I've tried getting into its mostly R&B. Found it mind boggling that NARAS nominated it for the best "Rap" album when there was more R&b than rap in there.

Drake, Take Care, Lupe Fiasco, Food & Liquor, The Roots Undun, Nas, Life Is Good, Rick Ross God Forgives, 2 Chainz.

Lupe or Roots should've got it. Nas's albums have been **** for the past while. And two chainz- haaa

This is it right here. I just love how everybody feels the need to make it known they don't like Drake's music before giving him props. As if they don't make that clear, people will think they're 16-year-olds who think Drake and Weezy are the GOAT, i.e. the people they hate.

Yeah his last album was a major let down to me he's got to stay away from that R&B and pop stuff
I know it sells and stuff but it's not his forte. When he sticks to rapping and goes hard not to many
rappers out there can touch him.

He kind of reminds me of Rudy Gay extremely talented and should be dominating but the consistency
and inefficiency are still holding them back kind of frustrating because it comes so easy to them.

With Drake he needs to start thinking quality over quantity and not mass produce stuff like Seth Rogan
movies a few years back. Hard to rag on a guy who just won a grammy and is considered to be one
of the best by people in the industry but I can see why there are so many people that are iffy on him.

So much ignorance in this thread, Drake is at his best when he incorporates melodies and singing into his music, that's what sets him apart from the rest of the game. He's a great songwriter and knows how to craft great records. His ability to effortlessly fuse R&B & Hip Hop makes him one of the best artists in hip hop at the moment. If you want to talk about him as a lyricist, then just look at all the features he's murdered in the past year.

Drake can rap his ass off, but like I said before, it's his ability to craft a complete record which is his biggest strength.

You didn't like Life is Good? I thought it was fantastic, a real throwback to the 90s. This was one of my favourite Nas albums ever IMO. It wasn't Illmatic but it was still a solid 8/10. He had really strong production with Large Professor again, and had some pretty strong features.
