Is this that surprising? We all know the Jazz always try to avoid paying the tax. That was the reason they traded Maynor.....

You guys need to get over Maynor, he's at best a backup PG, 9-10th best player on a playoff roster. 11.1 career PER, 7.5 PER this year. What is so damn special about him?

I'm pretty sure nobody is butt-hurt about Maynor. It was just a joke.

From a Wolfpack message board (via saltcityhoops):

"You have to pay taxes on your wages, regardless of whether or not you earned them."

Yep, I just needed to throw something in there to make clear I was joking about the luxury tax.

I am sure no one even remembers Maynor. I only remember him cause his name is like Maynard from Tool.

Does he lose his job? I would say its 50/50. Sounds like he paid federal taxes and maybe mistakenly did understand that he needs to pay NC taxes as a resident thereof. Definitely a distraction the team didn't need.
Play with the Pass, Play with a Purpose, and Play with Pace along with Obvious Unselfishness....Coach Snyder says the sky is purple than Jazz players say nice purple sky! LONG LIVE THE MAD SCIENTIST!!!!

If he did not know he was suppose to pay NC taxes he should probably sue his accountant but how does he not know not to pay his taxes? When you live in a state, you file a tax return, From what I read it sounds like Tax Evasion beecause he failed to file a NC State Income Tax Return. He probably has 3 counts of Tax Evasion; he probably owes right around 116250 plus interest and penalties. If you goes to jail he could always coach a jail team into contention for the NC State Penn Championships hahahahaha.
Ingles is cooked.

So either he knowingly broke the law or he's too stupid to realize there are state income taxes in NC. I'd almost hope it's the former.

ahh *sigh* funny times. Should be interesting to hear his explanation about this one. I'm wondering if the Jazz will do anything about this.. We've had players do some stupid things in the past but I don't remember a Coach ever getting into trouble with the law...
