Mike D'Antoni has continued to be intrigued in bringing Raja Bell to the Los Angeles Lakers, according to sources.
Bell has not played for the Utah Jazz this season after both he and the organization deemed it best if he stay away as the team searches for a settlement.
Bell was instrumental on successful Suns teams when D'Antoni coached in Phoenix.

LOL! The idea of getting an asset in return for Raja Bell is surreal. Another sign of D'Antoni's detachment from reality -- have you seen this guy play the past two years?

We need to jump on this fast? What possibly would they give for him? I would imagine we would have to send cash as well as Raja to finish paying for part of his salary.

All I see them being able to do that works in a trade for salary reasons is Bell for (out for the year after hip surgery) Jordan Hill and his $3.6 mill salary next year OR Chris Duhon and his $3.75 mill salary next year. Hill was doing decent off the bench before his injury and isn't expected to be recovered from the surgery until June or so. Duhon never gets much playing time in LA. They would probably want Utah to take Duhon.

Were getting nothing out of Bell, so anything we can to do to get rid of him, is great, even if we don't get anything back.
If we can get something back, or add him in a trade to get something better, than its fine by me. It is not like he is going to put a Jazz uniform on ever again.
I am not fully convinced on Lakers having anything we want. I can see us trading him with Millsap, and Clippers using Bell to trade with Lakers or something like that.
I think at least 1 major trade is bound to happen before thursday, and Jazz are looking to be in it with at least a 50% chance.
I think my trade idea was cool as a basis for blockbuster deal:(plus or minus the draft pick)
Jazz get Bledsoe then maybe ATL's 2nd 1st round pick
Clippers get Josh Smith
Hawks get Millsap and Butler/Odom, then maybe add in Bell and a Clipper to make room for Smith, and our 2nd round pick.

Don't the Lakers have a couple of trade exceptions lingering around?
If so, couldn't the Lakers acquire Bell for some trade exceptions and a hopefully a 2nd round pick? Even a trade exception is an asset.

If the ESPN Trade Machine is to be believed, the largest trade exception that the Lakers still have is a $1,781,800 one from acquiring Jordan Hill. So that wouldn't work out. They can't combine their $4.35 mill in trade exceptions to absorb Bell (http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q86).
