Re: Josh Atlant and Detrot - would you do this?
Atlanta would jump at the chance to trade Josh for Drummond OR Greg Monroe.
But Joe Dumars couldn't possibly be so foolish. At least not yet.
(I've heard whispers that DET will pursue Josh in free agency anyway.)

It'd have to be accompanied with 1st rounders, although I'm not sure even that would sway Dumars to trade a potential franchise Center.
Maybe if Monroe can't adjust to PF . . .

Denver Trades: Kenneth Faried, Javale Mcgee, Jordan Hamilton, Mozgov
Atlanta Trades: Josh Smith, Al Horford
Breaking into pieces it is a Faried-Smith swap and Mcgee, Hamilton, Mozgov for Horford. Could probably add a pick.

This trade doesn't particularly improve our team.
Javale McGee is a bonehead.

If we're not gonna resign Josh I wouldn't mind it, Mcgee may be a bonehead but he's still a good Center that has alot of potential, the thing that makes this trade favorable for me is the inclusion of the Manimal, Faried plays hard, hustles on every play, and has the chance to be a very special player in the NBA one day. Mozgov would also be an excellent addition to be a backup C

Faried is not worth Smith and McGee only plays 18+ min/game, Hamilton only 11+ min/game and Mozgov barely plays at all. That's the part that's amazingly ridiculous. Those 3 for Horford is a joke.
Why don't we discuss trading Teague for Lawson and 3 of our bench players for Iguodala?

Friend, MIL is a lousy team. There is no way a lousy team can trade for Josh Smith and not feel a little pain, yet every single offer MIL fans have made has been absolutely pain-free for them. Value in, value out: it's a simple idea.
What makes your trash any better than the Nets' trash? Or BOS's? Or Gasol?
Before y'all come over here with another "let's see how low they'll go" offer, think about this: why would ATL even consider the offer? With BKN, HOU, LAL, BOS, SAS, DAL and MIL all asking about him, why would the Hawks GIVE him to y'all?

Cause we have better trash to offer than anybody else..So you give up a player that is going to leave anyway and an get an immediate replacement in moute and a potential star in T Jones

Potential star is an overstatement

This is getting tiresome. Why don't you - first - present this trade idea on the trade board? Then, after the MIL fans have finished telling you that you're giving up too much ("Give up Joel Przybilla for Josh Smith? Are you crazy? Smith's not worth that!"), you can see the other posters laugh at the paucity of your offer.

Re: Atlanta Hawks Official Trade Ideas Thread
We really should have traded Josh last spring when he was avg 24/10 for the month of March.
Teams would have paid through the nose for 1 1/2 years of Josh.
At worst, we should have traded him last summer. Before the season started.
It feels ike we're just trying to do our homework at the last minute, and we're destined to get screwed with Gortat, or Mullens, or some other C-Level talent.
I'm tempted to say: screw EVERYONE with terrible trade offers and just hold on to Josh to spite them.
It just really burns that we coulda ended up with Lillard, Harden, Drummond, Rudy Gay, Pau Gasol or other valued assets, and now we have teams offering up their backups for 'our most talented player'.
All because our joke of an ownership group and their puppet GM were too short-sighted to make this trade LAST SEASON!
Curse you Rick Sund.

FoxSports is reporting that Lakers are indeed open to trading Dwight Howard....
so Devin Harris and Josh Smith for Dwight Howard and a 2nd round pick.
We get 2 months and a playoff run to see how Dwight plays next to Korver, Teague and Horford.
At the end of the season, we know whether that is a group worth building around.
We'd also be able to sign Dwight to a longer contract worth more money than anyone else. So we'd at least have a bargainaing chip in that regard.

I like the idea of trying to get Turner and Hawes from Philly. Turner fits pretty good next to Teague, and Hawes gives us definite size. Wouldn't mind making a run for D Will also. If we could swing a 3 way that nets us D Will, Hawes, and Turner, then we would come out of the deadline in a really good position.

Piston fan here, I come in peace...You guys should have traded Smith to the Pistons last season...Dumars would have given you guys anything outside of Monroe and Knight...Hopefully you guys get quality pieces for Smith before the deadline...

Drummond is the obvious answer, but that might just be an oversight on your part.
