On the one hand I have never shared the love of Luc starting at the 3 or the 4 and felt like he's a luxury that a middling team can't afford. But a deal like this and A Smith deal means somebody perhaps two somebody's are getting overpaid this off season and in a long term commitment.

Nope. We can sign him for the amount he wants in the offseason. No reason to give a 1st.

Terrible deal.

Where is the link?

Just pursue him in the offseason....this deal does not make us a better team.

don't really know why Orlando would want LRMAM.

Exactly. Take the 1st out of this and it's palatable.

I'd give up Luc for him, but no 1st if that meant some more time for Harris. I do think the Bucks need another shooter, but not worth overpaying for.

Could we give them Gooden and say "Hey he was a first rounder once."

Hammonds probably thinks if he has a few months to "buddy up" to Redick that he'll be more likely to sign with us in the offseason.

Milwaukee has to decide whether it will make prospective restricted free agent Brandon Jennings available, though sources say the Bucks like their chances of being able to match any offer sheet this summer; their books are relatively clean after this season. If Milwaukee gets involved in discussion of a larger deal involving Smith or one of their own starting guards, Jennings or Monta Ellis, one valuable piece who could be added to the mix is Luc Mbah a Moute. Teams like his defensive versatility, rebounding and a reasonable contract that declines from $4.8 million this season to $4.4 million in 2014-15, which coincides with the NBA's next big free-agent frenzy. One deal that has been proposed is Mbah a Moute and a first-round pick to Orlando for J.J. Redick, who will be a free agent this summer, multiple league sources say. The belief is that Milwaukee would only do that deal if they moved Ellis first.

Nothing to worry about, nobody wants Ellis, rite?

Goddammit. So if we do end up moving Ellis, it opens the door for a terrible follow up trade?? My dread for the upcoming deadline deal(s) the bucks are about to make continues to build...

I'm guessing the Bucks are probably thinking, do this, get Smith, and get into the 2nd round at least guarantees this pick is going to be 22nd or worse. And maybe peddle Moute and his remaining 2 years before his knees give out. Just thinking it from their standpoint maybe.

I understand we can just sign Redick in the offseason, but this maybe gets them in better position to do so.

Just devils advocate a bit. I don't want to give up the pick.

Redick for Mbah a Moute/Pryz or Mbah a Moute/Daniels I'd do in a minute. Fair for both teams. No reason to include a 1st.

Didn't BuckPack say the only way we trade for Reddick is if we trade one of the guards?

Went to the Magic forum, and the offer of Shumpert for Reddick is on the table, so why not a 3 way
Bucks In: Shumpert & (Camby/Novak/or filler)
Knicks in: Reddeck
Magic In: Moute/1st

Jennings/Shumpert/Smith/Ersan/Sanders

great defensive team, Skiles would be jealous.
