I read an article last week of which a player on another team was explicitly told that he would not be traded and two days later, was traded.

The general rule of an organization is to tell the players what they want to hear so that if they are not traded, they won't feel animosity being they were almost traded after they find out.

Thus, I bet most teams policy is to Not discuss the Trade Deadline with any players or trades involving them unless there is a no-trade clause involved.

I actually wouldn't mind an iman shumpert for JJ based deal. I mean, if we have to trade JJ, I think he deserves to go somewhere he can contend and I'm sure having lived there in the off season (and his obsession with designer man-bags) he'd love to live in NYC.

And having afflalo, moore, and shumpert in the back-court means we would have some sick defense to build on.

I sadly have to agree that this helps both teams.

Bucks have proposed L.R. Mbah a Moute and a first round pick for JJ Redick swap, contingent on finding taker for Monta Ellis, per @KBergCBS.

For those who don't trust that Cigamodnalro guy on twitter, here is the original quote:
One deal that has been proposed is Mbah a Moute and a first-round pick to Orlando for J.J. Redick, who will be a free agent this summer, multiple league sources say. The belief is that Milwaukee would only do that deal if they moved Ellis first.

Pick this year is at 15 right now.

Wonder what protection will be on it if true. (If it even is a pick this draft)

we would have a legit shot at Mclemore & Burke....or Smart & KCP/Oladipo

That would be solid moving forward.

That deal would give us another average player under contract for the next 2,5 years.. I'm not sure thats worth losing Redick and adding a pick around 15.. Personally I'd still look into the possibility of trading Afflalo to Minny for their first..

Afflalo for Roy and their first.. Roy comes of the books in 2014, works out well for us.. and we get their pick..

Ill take this over shump ANYDAY. Hopefully they can get rid of monta and JJ gets the starting role he deserves.

Agreed, but not sure about the position.
We'd need him at the 3, but here is what Hollinger wrote:
"Mbah a Moute had a good offensive season by his modest standards, increasing his scoring output to a respectable 13.2 points per 40 minutes. He could have raised it even higher had he shot better than 64.1 percent from the line, as he had one of the better foul rates at his position.

Break it down, however, and the same problems lurk. He shot 66.7 percent in the basket area -- and 20.8 percent outside it. Ugh. This is a major problem because his ideal position otherwise would be the 3, where he is a massive defensive disruptor with his length, motor and lateral quickness.

Even as a 4, Mbah a Moute is a potent defensive force. Synergy rated him well above average and he had the eighth-best rate of steals at his position, while the Bucks gave up 3.5 fewer points per 100 possessions with him on the court. All this is entirely consistent with his data from previous seasons -- he's an ace at the 3, and a plus defender but not quite as strong at the 4.

Unfortunately, his offensive limitations make him a better fit at the 4 ... and yet the Bucks are so overloaded in the frontcourt it's hard to see how he plays unless it's at the 3. He's a good, valuable player, but one wonders where exactly he fits in this picture. "

Magic trade: Redick
Receive: Courtney Lee, Bucks 2013 first round pick

Bucks receive: Redick
Trade: 2013 first round pick, LR Mbah a Moute

Celtics trade: Courtney Lee
Receive: LR Mbah a Moute

Magic get a valuable pick and a Redick replacement, opening the window to a second Afflalo trade should one present itself (multiple T-Wolves picks?!). Celtics get needed depth up front in exchange for a long-term contract at a logjam position. Bucks get their guy for a package that is presumably on the table.

Mbah a Moute + harkless at the 3 would be fantastic from a defensive perspective.

moore,
afflalo,
a Moute,
Davis,
Vucivic

that's a +defensive unit capable of switching several positions

No scouting report needed. He's the prototype version of Moe Harkless.

I just noticed, but apparently it was US offering JJ? So much for not actively looking to move JJ...

@DarrenWolfson
Not sure who the #Twolves trade targets are. Working on. Told again no on Josh Smith. No on Hickson. And while they like Redick, doubtful.
