And yes, the eye test showed me Deron Williams has some spare tires this season.

First of all Colangelo is trying to cover his ass... Second Billy King who would know Williams exact weight says right there in the article Williams is exactly 1 pound heavier than he was when they traded for him... I safely assume he took a physical upon being traded and takes a physical before each season.

The ankle injury took place before the olympics and he re aggravated the injury in London... Colangelo is trying to shield off the one bit of criticism that Team USA has gotten since they started using Pro's... exposing well paid stars to injuries something a guy like Mark Cuban has always spoken out about.

If the "eye test" didn't show you that the guy was more hobbled than he was out of shape then he should be taking time off to "lose that 1 pound" instead of getting injections in both ankles.

Just like the "eye test" showed me last year that Melo's struggles during the regular season were more a result of injury more than they were of him being "fat" or because of "linsanity" is the same way I believe Deron's struggles were more of a result of one nagging injury after the another.

And just because you won't see me posting much anymore.. I won't hesitate to come on here when I see some of you trying to bad mouth me and light you up.

And I wasn't the only one... bare witness to Realgm Knicks forum HERO...

Catch me up.. are we still saying that Deron Williams is fat and sucks? I just want to know where my Knicks brethren sit so I look like I know what I'm talking about.

i never said that but actually joe johnson has been the one playing better. part of this is also the surge a team gets after a coach is fired.

So send a little of baiting his way also.. or are you scurred to bad mouth the deity?

Please cry more.

How can anyone withstand the devastating, tried-and-true, "cry more" internet riposte?

Chris Paul is playing his impeding free agency like a true negotiator.

Has not committed to stay, yet has power to tell the team what they need and he wants.

And he was a Laker, that has got to hurt that other franchise.

Idk why they would need to listen to him. Chris Paul isn't giving up a guaranteed 5th year with that knee.

Of course not but he still has knee issues and I just doubt he gives up $20 mm guaranteed to go elsewhere given the teams that will have cap space and the talent already on the roster (mainly, Blake).

It's leverage, we all saw how Brooklyn panicked because of a slight possibility that Deron might walk.

Chris Paul will be the remix of that, the mere possibility of their star walking will make them do what he desires.

His knees are irrelevant unless you think he gets less money because of them.

This the thread for general trade discussion?

Sounds like Brooklyn and Celtics really pining for Josh Smith, according to Woj.

Three teams that league GM's on phones believe will make significant moves before trade deadline: Atlanta, Milwaukee and Phoenix.

You are right he isn't leaving. However, they listen to him because they value his input. He changed the Clippers culture after all. He isn't holding the Clippers hostage or anything like that....

During the off season he personally recruited Barnes, Willie Green, and played a huge role in recruiting Crawford. Basically he helped drastically improve the Clippers bench.

Eh not another Paul, D. Will comparison. :P
Its not so much leverage as it is respect. The Clippers respect and value CP3's opinion.
Funny how Brooklyn might have been better off if D. Will walked. He has been playing like a bum.
The Nets will never be good with so many overpaid, overrated talent on their team. They must be looking to beat the Raptors in trying to get the most overpaid players in the nba.
