The Nets are trying to make a deal for Smith, too, and have offered Kris Humphries, MarShon Brooks, and either a future first-round pick or the draft rights to Croatian Bojan Bogdanovic, sources said.

Interesting if that is our package. So if we offer both the first round pick and rights to Bogdanovic, would that get it done? I'm glad that BK hasn't thrown everything at them as he usually overpays for everyone.

Never happening but I'd love to go get him...

@Chris_Broussard Sources: New Orleans has made Eric Gordon available for trade. Trade not likely though as clubs concerned about EG's health going forward.

I love Gordons game. But we just don't have the assets, interesting that teams are concerned with his health going forward so nobody wants to make a trade.

Why aren't Phoenix going after him now?

He can't be traded to the Suns until the summer.

Also, just as an in general, since he signed with another team as a RFA and was then matched, he has veto power over any deal til the summer.

I feel as we get closer to the deadline without any movement by other teams, the likelihood of us making a trade increases. Teams keep dropping out because they fear the lux tax.

‏@RicBucher
Not sure if the Spurs make a deal before Thursday, but a source says it won't be for Josh Smith or Al Jefferson.

Come on, guy. Seriously? Gordon is all but a negative asset below Humphries, and Henderson sucks and will not be re-signed by the Bobcats. Adding a first is laughable.

Zach Lowe says the Nets have actually thought about trading Hump for Bargnani...oh Billy.

Also this from Berger's latest:
Ferry has prioritized youth and multiple draft picks in talks for Smith, but in the NBA's new financial paradigm, potential trade partners are insisting on sending future salary to Atlanta with those assets, sources said. The deadlock could improve the Nets' chances of landing Smith and reuniting him with former Hawks teammate Joe Johnson, one of the sources said.

Yahoo Sports reported the Nets have offered Kris Humphries, Marshon Brooks and either a first-round pick or the rights to Croatian Bojan Bogdanovic. It's a deal the Hawks know will still be there all the way up to Thursday's trade deadline, but not necessarily this summer when Smith becomes an unrestricted free agent. As a team that far exceeds the NBA's new luxury-tax apron -- at least $4 million above the tax line -- the Nets could not acquire Smith via a sign-and-trade this summer unless they shed significant salary prior to or as part of the deal.

OK...who around has the nude pictures of Sheridan that he is so aggressively pumping Dwight to the Nets? Not complaining by the way!

Auspicious use of "nude pictures" and "aggressively pumping" in the same sentence, no???

Why aren't the Nets looking at Sebastian Telfair? Brooklyn connection is there. We aren't exactly setting the world on fire with our PG situation featuring two backup "PG" that are more like combo-guards than anything else. Bassy at least has a history of having solid court vision.

I think Bassy would be an upgrade over both players in the long run and he would love it here for obvious reasons. It would have to be a bigger trade but here's something

Nets get: Paul Millsap, Michael Beasley, Sebastian Telfair
Suns get: Ben Gordon, 1st rounder
Bobcats get: Humphries, Stackhouse, Taylor 1st rounder (Nets)
Jazz get: Ramon Sessions, 1st rounder (Nets)

Not sure how I feel about Telfair, but I'd like to give Marbury a go.

Apparently, the Warriors are going after Eric Gordon and Klay Thompson would be headed to New Orleans.
