Trade Deadline 2013 Edition

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Tue Feb 19, 2013 5:58 pm

The mid-season trade deadline is coming up this Thursday, November 21st at 2:00 PM CST.

It has been an uncharacteristically quiet year for the Rockets on the rumor front. It seems that most around Rocket Land assume that no major deals will be made, but that we may see a minor tweak or two.

Personally, I don't see the Rockets making a major move, but I do not think that the Roster on Friday will be the same one as we see tomorrow. My guess is that Morey is targetting first round draft picks for this year or next year in order to free up some trade flexibility for the summer.

Who do you think is most likely to be traded by Thursday?

And have you heard any good rumors?

i think smith is gone
lakers make small trades to improve their bench
no big trades for boston. they dont wanna lose kg and pierce for a short term goal

there's something about reddick and shumperts being traded. i think the knicks should keep shumpert for that defense. they got plenty shooters

I don't keep track of how reliable these writers are, but if this is true we have to be going for Dwight in a sign & trade... won't go after Smoove until Dwight is a sure thing.

Lin & Asik will most likely have to go to LAL for Dwight which is more than enough value the Lakers would be getting.

Morey spent 2.4 million on the rights to Llull no way he just gonna let that go which is why I believe Llull will come soon, apparently his new contract lowered his buyout.

Llull/Beverley, Harden, White LBJ, Smoove, Dwight

or would you guys prefer

Lin, Harden, Parsons,_______, Asik

All of this happening in he summer I don't believe we do much now.

This is guaranteed to be wrong, but...

I can't see the Rox doing anything huge. They have a nice young core. But you know McHale wants another big. Somebody to back up Asik.

Bucks offered Reddick for Mbah and a 1st
The Orlando Magic have offered J.J. Redick to the Milwaukee Bucks for Luc Mbah a Moute and a first round pick, according to sources.

The Bucks would only trade for Redick if they can find a deal involving Monta Ellis.

Redick will be a free agent in the offseason.

Ken Berger ‏@KBergCBS
The belief among rival execs is that the Bucks would only acquire Redick if they first decided to move Monta Ellis as part of a bigger deal.

bucks should take that even without trading monta. they need more shooters on that team and reddick is like worth 3 lol

I just want to move Morris and/or Patterson. If someone makes a great offer for Delfino and Toney then take it as long as its assets that can be used in the offseason.

Why would we S&T for Dwight? It would be better to sign Dwight outright, and then S&T for J-Smoove. Move Asik + Filler (one of PP/Mook/Jones) in the S&T for Smith. That gives us Lin/Harden/WLBJ/J-Smoove/Howard

The ideas of Dwight/Asik, Asik/Smoove or Dwight/Smoove in the frontcourt is just awful and should stop.

Lin/Harden/WLBJ/J-Smoove/Howard ... I don't know about this lineup.

With Howard, we need a Ryan Anderson type power forward that can stretch the floor and doesn't have a high usage rate.

Harden, J-Smoove, and Howard all need touches, and Lin and Parsons too to be effective.

i'm getting a bad feeling about the rockets....i have a feeling that morey is going after howard now...i hate to break up our core and rather we wait till summer to pursue howard, but it is eerily quiet. also, an article at 6:30p says the kupchak is likely shopping howard very quietly since they don't want howard to know about it. this is getting to be nervous time.

Wojnarowski is reporting that the Hawks opening request for Smith from the Rockets is Asik & Parsons.

Houston is laughing.

I don't think that Houston will end up making a trade for Smith, but I do think that some other team will overpay for him by 2 PM today.

I don't think it's a bad idea. Can you sign both Dwight and Josh this off season? If you are looking to get Dwight, this trade works. Unless you want to pay Asik that money to back Dwight up. Josh is Dwight's best friend.

Lin
Harden
Smith
Robinson
Howard

Not bad. :dontknow:
