Pistons-Celtics Trade Idea

Post#1 » by RipCity32 » Wed Feb 20, 2013 5:42 pm

Boston is trying to move Fab Melo for guard help.

How about:
Fab Melo
Brandon Bass

For

Rodney Stuckey

I think everyone agrees Stuckey has to go and is a good fit with Boston. Fab could be a great big to backup Andre for many years to come. And Bass is a more reliable Maxiell which means we can just let Maxiell walk and Bass is on a reasonable deal. Perfect trade for both sides?

I'd rather see what would we could get for Stuckey in the offseason, or buy him out. Bass is ok, Melo meh.

I was wondering Fab for Bynum. I don't think Melo will ever be great, but he could be a serviceable backup and be part of our long term plans in that role.

Yeap the problem is we would need to include English to make the deal work for us and that would almost kill Melo's value.

Bynum and English for Melo, Barbosa and Collins is the deal that works and it's awful for us.

Bynum for Melo, Barbosa, and Collins works in the trade machine. English isn't necessary to be incuded.

Barbosa is done for the year, so he could just be bought out to keep the roster under 15. His salary is only 800k.

Collins could bought out too, if nec. He only makes 800k too.

I like Melo. He would be a great backup C who could take over Drummonds role in the 2nd unit. Basically be what we thought Slava would be.

I'd do it, if we are planning to let Bynum walk in FA. Might as well get back a good young C prospect who doesn't take up any of our capspace if we can

fab melo is a super scrub and wont get any better, he cant even catch a damn ball, he cant rebound also. he's essentially a worse slava kravtsov, not even kidding. i hate stuckey but i wouldnt trade him for the worst player in the league (melo) and a mediocre, overpaid bass

No way Celts trade Bass with Melo for Stuckey. Bass is good for the cheap price.

AFAIK you can't go 16 players during the season, so we would need to either include a player or waive a player in order to complate a 1 for 3 trade. Hence why English needs to be included and why it would kill the value for us.
