The Magic want a 1st round pick and all of the teams offering have a similar pick to ours. All we have to do is throw in Marshon and they would accept.

But once again, Billy would rather stand pat with this handicapped offensive team than to make a SMART move by adding a real shooter instead of relying on Bogans.

i would make Brooks + 1st for reddick deal. im not sure olrando does.

I don't want to trade for a 35 year old with 1 1/2 years left on his deal for basically every asset we have currently.

To me it makes no sense because we still have Reggie Evans starting. Why is there such a need for us as fans to send out 1st round picks and any asset we currently have for minimal upgrades?

Reddick is looking for $10m as a free agent, again a horrible deal and a negative asset the second it's signed.

Why not keep anything we have an build up our crap assets until the right player becomes available?

1st thing that should be done post deadline is start Hump, who as bad as he is, is 3 times the player Evans is.

Boston covets Brooks because they would put him into a situation and system where he can succeed, unlike the joke of a coaching staff that currently has the Nets sputtering along.

If we can't get Smith, get Pierce. I'd welcome an actual leader on this team instead of the pillsbury dough boy.

Lopez/Wallace/Pierce/Johnson/Tub of Lard

sounds good to me. It's better than standing still. Hump's value has been killed, and so has Swag, so if we can make our team better by unloading the two and a draft pick that we won't develop properly anyway, go for it. Plus, we have the euro stashes to bring over and we need to develop Taylor off of the bench, if that's even possible this year with Avery's soap scum still polluting this franchise's direction.

tl;dr I approve of trading for Pierce.

Go to the small ball line up. C-SF-SF-SG-PG. It would be better than running that jackass Evans out there as a starter

We won't play small ball though. Wallace and Pierce would share the minutes and we still have a huge problem at PF. So unless the trades makes us a much better team now and the next few years, whats the point?

^At the very least, Pierce is a bigger expiring next year than Humphries, so we can take back more salary in a trade.

And Pierce is a big upgrade to Johnson or Wallace when he does play. The only "assets" we're giving up are Marshon and a draft pick. I really don't think that's a big deal, especially for next year when you have Pierce's massive expiring, which would probably be more valuable than either of those. And we can always buy some late picks with cash. We'd still have future picks not tied up with Atlanta, and we'd still have Eurostashes as well.

And we do play small ball in spurts, and that lineup with Pierce in it would be pretty dangerous. I don't see how he doesn't improve us in pretty much every way this year. Yes, Evans still starting would be a problem, but you can mitigate that by replacing Wallace in the starting lineup with Pierce, and have 4 great offensive players next to Evans.

dont even give a **** about trying to take this team to the "next level" at this deadline. the path were on now is empty. no interest in throwing the kitchen sink at smith, pierce, or milsap. keep the euros. keep the 1sts. build a reputation as an organization that develops talent. how much more fun was winning games in 2001-2003 than it is right now? no more mediocre declining garbage that will forever be associated with other organizations. bring in a head coach with a personality and reputation big enough to subordinate player to system. employ him for the next decade.

I fully expect King to give up assets for someone's bird rights again.

The most Billy King move out there is JJ Hickson for a 1st so we rent him for a few months before he goes and signs somewhere else due to us not having his bird rights....thats a Billy King move right there.

Ill take 1.5 years of pierce over 1.5 years of hump 100 times out of 100.

The pick is irrelevant, its a late pick in a weak draft and we still have all our picks going forward. The only asset we loseis brooks, and brooks is crap.

We still have a lare expiring in pierce, all our picks, and euros to trade next year.

We lose n8thing on the court or really anything asset wise and gain something enormous in leadership and competitiveness.

So, it's back to the Bucks and us for Smith. It's still up to the Bucks, whether they want Smith or not. If they don't want him, I just can't see Atlanta willing to lose Smith for nothing. I'd have to believe they'd settle for our craptastic offer. Nobody else is willing to give them anything.
