I get the feeling that this is probably what happened. The Redick trade doesn't smell like something that was intended to be just between those two teams. Feels like they panicked at threw it together right at the end.

Our own damn fault for being chumps and not having backup plans in place. We suck as a franchise.

They saved us from our selfs. Any asset going out for Smith would've been just as bad as it was for Redick.

He met him before a game and Hammond gave him his card.

This. If the Hawks pull out, you do to. You don't make a garbage trade for a rental that you can't resign.

Just like you're forgetting that Hasheem Thabeet went 13/11 against Charlotte this year. Scrubs have good games.

I like Ayon, we should've traded Dalembert though.

No way, it almost certainly would've involved Ellis which is automatically a win. Redick + Smith - Ellis would've been a great day for us.

Now, like I said, if he walks the deal looks a lot worse.

Ellis should be Gooden'd now. He can't be allowed to play anything more than spot backup minutes.

This x1000.

The logic I've heard regarding Brooks (which I also agree with) is how he can't get off the bench on an average BKN team and is losing minutes to the likes of Stackhouse/Bogans.

The same applies to Harris. If he really was as good as everyone here wants to believe then he would've been getting some burn, somehow. Now Redick doesn't turn us in to a championship contender but the Bucks got the best player in the trade.

You have a terrible memory. Ellis was hated from the start.

Agreed.

For someone who is notoriously championship or bust, I don't understand how you like this. This is seriously a move to keep the 8th seed and nothing more. Now whether thats for 30 more games, or 4 more seasons is the question.

Because the Bucks aren't bad enough to tank. Not with Sanders and Ersan still around and improvements to Henson. The frontcourt is too good.

If you would have told me that Ersan was going to be moved for a high lotto pick, our expiring guys were gonna get moved for late 1sts and we were gonna let Baddy walk, great! Let's rebuild.

But Ersan wasn't moved, the Bucks seem intent on paying Baddy and Sanders isn't going anywhere. So now we add a good, smart all around SG who HOPEFULLY means the end of the Ellis era.

And we added a nice backup big in Ayon.

I have no idea who Ish Smith is, though.

Meanwhile, what no one is complaining about: Why didn't we maximize Dalemberts value? I can understand keeping Dunleavy, but Dalembert really is someone we could have got a late first round, early second round pick for...

The guy will help you guys make a playoff run. Gus Ayon is a solid backup big and Ish Smith is a good third point guard.

The real question is how much you like Harris and Lamb.

Yea, we'll sure show Miami in the playoffs. Question, would you guys switch rosters with the Bucks? No? Thought so.

JJ is a scrub and will walk in the offseason for nothing, beat it

Great post, telling the head moderator of RealGM to beat it when he came to post complimentary things is always a good idea.
