AA/Lamb
Harkless/Harris
BBD/Nicholson
Vuc/Oquinn

(assuming we buy Turk out or trade him in summer). Wouldn't be shocked at all to see BBD moved this summer as well. Prob keep Harrington for one more year and then cut him summer 2014. Seems like we are def def LOADING up on capspace summer 2014. I mean, more than likely we are going to have Afflalo and a bunch of guys on rookie deals. We might honestly have like $45-50 million in caproom that summer.

srs question.... what are the Magic going to be able to REALISTICALLY accomplish with that all cap space? Yes they can pay people but honestly who do you think they can attract in free agency?

We will have to wait and see. If our young guys continue to develop (Vuc is already a top 5-7 center in the league, prob top few in a couple years)...plus we get a high draft pick this year, plus a high one next year (what if it's #1? Don't think guys would wanna come play with Wiggins????) then this becomes a VERY attractive place to come play.

Jesus I am a gigantic Duke fan, mom went love JJ. But people on this forum over valuing a bench player on the worst team in basketball is absolutly laughable! In no universe is JJ worth a lotto pick ESPECIALLY WHEN HE CAN WALK IN THE SUMMER. And he was not staying in Orlando past this year. So props to Henny for getting some young talent

While that may be the motiviation, isn't there a minimum cap number we have to stay above?

Yes, but what are you trying to say? That minimum is way more than hit (it includes Gilbert's salary next year anyways) next year already....so what does it matter? The only thing that might matter would be us having to overpay in summer 2014 for mid-level guys (ala Rashard) to hit that minimum for 2014-2015 season.

Nothing wrong with trying to get potential for a guy who most definitely was going to walk at the end of the year. Would I have liked a pick in their somewhere sure but obviously i didn't happen.

Strengths: Tobias is a talented, combo forward with a skill-set suited for NBA play ... Has good versatility and a great feel for the game ... His ability to handle the ball makes him a tough match-up for opposing bigs, however he'll need to develop a consistent outside stroke to make him more of a threat off the dribble ... He uses a combination of strength and agility to either overpower or elude his defender ... He has broad shoulders solid upperbody with plenty of room to fill out ... Harris has the ability to put the ball on the floor, with a deceivingly quick first step that creates mismatch problems at the high post ... Shows timely slashing across the middle, where he can catch and score in the paint with either hand ... Overall: Harris averaged 15 points and 7 rebounds in his freshman year on a disfunctional Tennessee team, proving to be one of the more versatile players in the country at just 18 years old ... His consistency and high basketball IQ at such a young age is an attractive quality to General Managers, and he managed to score in double figures in all but three games as a freshman ...

Weaknesses: Tries to do too much at times. Learning how to be a consumate team player, something his idol Kobe still must learn himself. Gets criticized for being too fancy, still has alot of basketball to learn.

cats fan here. trying to figure out orlando's motivation for trading mcroberts for warrick. both play same position. same length of deals (warrick has team option for next year). but warrick makes slightly more money and is arguably worse (trust us - if you cant crack the cats frontcourt rotation of bismack, mullens, haywood and jeff adrien then you are awful - see diop, tyrus and warrick).

I think it is because McRob wants minutes and has even stated in the past he thinks he is a starter. Now, he will get his chance to prove himself.

You could not pick up the option, fill the roster spot with a 1 year minimum contract, and accomplish the same result while saving your owner over 3 million dollars. I suppose he could represent a 4mill expiring in a trade next year, but I'm not sure if I see us as buyers in the trading market next year.

My guess is we're either getting a 2nd from the Cats, or they otherwise played some kind of role to facilitate the deal and saved a bit of money for their trouble.

The season is almost over....we don't save them the difference in salary, we save them the prorated difference. Isn't that only like $250K?

I'm a big Tobias Harris fan. I think he will do well here. That said, I'm shocked we could not get more for Redick. Still, this is how rebuilding works, shedding salary and tanking. We need to be patient.

Still sucks though, JJ was my favorite Magic player.
