He does a lot of little things that help teams, very underrated player. Yeah he's 6'4, yeah he's not a great defender, yeah he's white.. but if you are keeping Jennings he's a very solid backcourt mate for him IMO. I really like the move for you guys, especially once Monta is out of town and Redick can take the starting gig

I absolutely love Redick. When we were looking like a legit chance at the 6th+ seed early this year I wouldn't have hated this trade. Fact is, Redick doesn't make us a threat in the playoffs at all.

Everybody has had rumors of Kohl selling for years and he never has. It's just wishful thinking of a beaten down and dwindling fan base at this point.

If everything you say about that sentence comes true, I am jumping up and down happy.

The real question is how much you like Harris and Lamb.

It's not about whether Redick is good, it's whether trading young assets makes sense when he's not going to make us a serious contender and is a pending FA.

I got you there.

It does seem like you guys are always stuck in the middle of The NBA and that is a bad place to be.

you wanna pay him $40 mil?

Very rare that a guy gets what he's posturing for, but if I had the option of Monta at 11m or inking Redick for 4/40, I'd do the latter every day of the week. And if he can stabilize the backcourt with Jennings, he'd be worth every penny too

you obviously don't know the Bucks

we'll probably pay him 50m

So at the end of the day, we still refused to give up Monta in a Josh Smith deal when we already had Redick on deck? Lol oh my goodness that is just awful GM'ing. That's disgusting.

No ****ing way. If not including Ellis, a guy that already declined a 2-year extension, was the reason Atlanta pulled out, Hammond/Kohl/the lawyers should all be taken out back and dealt with.

That makes no sense. We were going to get Redick if we got Smith (and Udrih was traded to Orlando).

And now ESPN reporting it the exact same way. Make sense now?

sure hope Redick starts and Ellis has his pt cut way down, more likely to make him opt out
hell, at this point Ayon is a better player than Harris or Lamb. They are potential assets but coud just as well be busts

Underrated aspect of the stupidity of this is that we now have an INTERIM COACH asking two guys in the last 30 games of their current deals who are playing for new contracts to adapt to less playing time, less shots, or both.

Yea, we'll sure show Miami in the playoffs. Question, would you guys switch rosters with the Bucks? No? Thought so.

JJ is a scrub and will walk in the offseason for nothing, beat it

J.J. Redick is not a scrub but understand your frustration about being a middle team that likely is not going anywhere.

No blinders at all. I'll eat crow if we make the 7th seed and get swept by whoever is the 2nd seed.

I'd be stunned if Redick doesnt re-up with you guys. No one on the FA market is giving him 10m per. Or 9. Or probably 8.

Think its a long-term move to help out Jennings with a guy who can spread the floor and not jack up bad shots

Great post, telling the head moderator of RealGM to beat it when he came to post complimentary things is always a good idea.

Nah!

I know you guys are frustrated with always being in the middle of the pack. As much as I love J.J., this does not change much for you guys.

You will like J.J. Redick though.
