Look, Derrick can pissed that the Bulls aren't putting "enough" around him, but the only move that Rose could openly criticize for lack of talent would be letting Gordon, Asik or Korver walk. The rest have been replaced by superior players.

This is an unfair criticism of a team that is in the thick of a playoff race WITHOUT Rose. The Bulls aren't scrapping to make the playoffs with a healthy Rose. They're a high 40s win team without him.

I agree on throwing the players under the bus. He took that too far.

But I think his main issue is looking around from the offseason to now and seeing the Bulls making financial moves. He's implying that Rose would be a lot more motivated to return if the Bulls had put pieces around him that will help long-term and they haven't. Most of the trade deadline talk has been about dumping salary. Even in the trade rumor thread now, we're looking ahead to the offseason and the talk is still about dumping salary.

How he feels is really relevant and him feeling the need to publicly berate the Bulls makes it an even bigger deal. He doesn't want Rose going back to a team where he's going to have to do EVERYTHING again, and increase his chance of getting another significant injury. With this team he's still going to have to do everything.

Not sure how twitter works exactly, so not sure whether it's Kelly Dwyer responding to Nick, or Kelly quoting Nick, either way...

Keep in mind Nick is really a Heat fan so forget wth he thinks.

Who cares if he is a Heat fan, that tweet is spot on, and sounds like some crap i read in our trade thread often.

What he has done here is extremely unprofessional and Derrick would be wise to distance himself from it quick smart.

Maybe this goes beyond the trade deadline. Remember this past offseason the Bulls destroyed a great bench to save a few bucks.

Go get 'em Reggie!!!!!

Boozer or Deng has to get traded for this team to progress. D-Rose needs a second consistent scorer.

He really needs to shut the eff up. Saying anything at this point in time does absolutely nothing but piss people off. Besides, what does he expect them to do? Go out and trade for Durant? There really is no superstar or star player other than Howard, Smith and Gasol that were disgruntled enough that teams were inquiring about them. Howard doesn't want to come to Chicago....Gasol is injured, and Smith....just no. You can't make wine out of water. It's already a surprising step that the bulls are going to pay the luxury tax for the first time EVER for this team. No need to make a move just to make one, which probably doesn't make us better, or actually makes us worse

In fairness and on the positive side, Reggie was clear that he expects Rose back this year, that he doesn't speak for Derrick, and that there is no rift between Rose and the FO.

Rose will never put this pressure on the FO himself. Reggie is here to do that. Even though Reggie probably knows no good trade was available, he still needs to put the pressure on the FO to not trade Boozer, etc.

I've been saying all year - Bulls are geared towards 2013-14 as an all-out title run. Reggie's just flapping his gums to make sure it happens IMO.

It was theorized that Derrick came out and said he was a while away last week to temper expectations. However, a while back, if I remember correctly, somebody in the FO was quoted as saying our big move this year would be getting Derrick back. We've got conflicting approaches here.

The team genuinely believes the team, as currently constructed + Derrick, could win a title. Derrick's camp, and possibly Derrick as well, on the other hand, doesn't believe that to be the case.

Things are going to get interesting. Unfortunately, Reggie did this just as the deadline passed. Perhaps if he had said something earlier we'd have been more likely to make a splash. Hell, maybe he did, and throwing the FO under the bus like this is punishment for remaining dormant.

i would hate if we did something because Reggie **** Rose told us to

Take Reggie out of it. The fact of the matter is that pressure is being put on the FO, which is good.

Put Reggie back in it. Would you rather have Derrick criticizing the team, or his nobody (but yet, somebody) brother? The answer is obvious.

The pressure has been put on, but Derrick is still going to be able to say "Hey guys, wasn't me," so chemistry could potentially still be preserved.

Quinarvy wrote:This could also kill team chemistry.

The players should look at Rose like the leader he is when he gets back.

Now?

Now they might look at him and wonder who he even wants around and if he shares his brothers views. That's a lot harder to follow than the "Why can't I be MVP" Rose

Which would be a damn shame because for three season, the Bulls have had one of the best chemistry between players that there is, and then they have to read and undoubtly have to answers questions about this article eventually basically saying that they aren't good enough to win, even when Rose comes back.

How are they meant to feel now, playing their butts off while Derrick rehabs and then they have to read and likely answer questions about how the teams leaders doesn't want to come back, because his brother thinks the players on the team basically aren't good enough.

There is a right way to get management to make moves, and then there is a wrong way - this in particular is the WORST way there is to go about it.

The current Bulls have a shot of beating this year's Miami team in a seven game series with or without DRose. Period.

At the very least I wish it keeps it private and Reggie Rose seem to be lack of NBA knowledge how things work especially with the new CBA.

We all know that D. Rose values winning over everything. I legitimately think he may leave in 4 years if the Bulls haven't won a title. And could you really blame him? Whether you want to admit it or not, we all know that we can't win a title with this team.

why would he need to do everything, ha can pass more, than he wouldnt need to do everything, i get that he is great driving to the rim, but that creates more open shots for his team mates, and he doesnt pass the ball in that situations! Man his brother is making so much money here, from Bulls and Adidas, he should be thankful to Bulls for that, you little ungrateful prick

Well Reggie's a moron for throwing the team under the bus, but I get where he's coming from. He doesn't want to see Derrick reinjure himself because he has to do everything in order to win.
