If the front office doesn't get him some serious help in the not so distant future this could be Derrick saying these things. How often do we see Superstar players become disgruntled about the roster that has been put around them after a number of seasons without a Finals appearance?

I'm not saying that there necessarily was anything the front office could have done at this trade deadline to drastically improve the team, but you better start thinking of ways to make something happen sooner than later because we aren't going anywhere with the team as is.

Man, saying those things just before a game against Miami; saying those things in the midst of the season.... not smart Reggie, not smart.

Reggie wants a job with another FO and is dumb enough to think this might get him one. He's probably sick of being nothing more than a "camp" counselor.

I'm actually cool with what he said, but it's futile and meaningless. And I firmly believe it was mostly all just to make extra sure the Bulls didn't make a weakening trade of Boozer, RIP or Deng at the deadline, which IMO they weren't going to do anyway, though I'm sure they don't assure Reggie Rose of what deals they will or won't make.

Bulletin board material.

This can definitely light a spark under the players, good fuel...They've already shown how good they are. Most thought this was going to be a tank, I think not!

Exactly, if ur not Deng or Noah, what Reggie said would piss me off to shut him up. We are 31-22 without his little brother. Who saw that at the beginning of the year?!

here's the thing. reggie's opinion is correct. the bulls know this. everyone knows this. the bulls are not favorites, so we should be making moves towards that goal. thats always the goal. the problem is there are no magical trades to make. we arent the lakers- people dont just give us great talents for bags of chips. we have tried to get great talent. it didnt work out. how is that the fault of the FO? does the FO control the weather? does the FO control state income tax?

so for him to go and say what he said is complete and utter BS. rose will most likely need to address the team in person to clean up this mess.

not to mention- if your goal, reggie, was to truly build a great team around derrick, you shouldve told him to take a smaller contract. $250m from adidas is absolutely enough money for one family. derricks contract is absolutely going to cripple this team going forward, especially with the new CBA.

but you're right, reggie, we should just start making trades just to make them. after all, thats what the cavs did for lebron, the nuggets for melo, and orlando for dwight, right? that worked out well....right?

He's saying the team is obviously not good enough to beat the Heat right now, and the FO's conservative non-action shows that they're too stupid to realize that. He probably thinks they should have made a move with their eye on improving the team by next year, when Derrick's healthy and we have a better shot at beating the Heat.

What move exactly?

Its super easy for chumps like Reggie to say this, but do what?

People complain and can point all they like, but they never cite example or possible moves that actually make us better.

Its easy to sit there and complain, but no move we make is putting us a OKC level let alone a Heat level, given our best player is out and that these 2 teams have the 2 best players in the world right now.

I don't have a problem with this.

Reggie takes the role as bad guy so Derrick doesnt have to. The FO better damn well be listening.

Get rid of Boozer or Deng. Rose needs a 2nd consistent scorer.

I'm glad that he's speaking up. Rose has no #2. He has #3s and #4s as his sidekicks.

i would rather get rid of Rose if he thinks this way, and stayed with warriors like Taj, Loul, Noah, Jimmy, Kirk... i hate celebrity basketball players, thats why i diddnt want Lebron, Melo or Dwight here...but Rose to be like them, man...

He could care less about getting attention for himself. The family is financially set for life.

What he wants is for the Bulls to get his brother some help. Rose needs a second consistent scorer alongside of him or his career will be shortened because he's shouldering that burden alone.

No, he doesn't, but im sure that the deadline passing just now with his brother still out wasn't just a coincidence.

We're making a link here, but i think its a justifiable one.

Perhaps he is referencing last off season as well, but the timing would lead me to believe otherwise.

Is it possible that his comments are in response to a history of dormancy? Last deadline, last offseason, this deadline. We're close, and known it for a while now; at the same time, we know we have to improve, and have had some opportunities. Still, no improvements.

I'd be surprised if this is the first the Bulls have heard that the Rose camp wants upgrades; as such, it's possible the camp has been private for long enough and the FO has sat on their hands. Now we're playing hardball and the pressure is all on the FO now.

Rose shooting a low% against Miami kinda makes Reggie's point. Rose had to shoot for volume because nobody else was capable of scoring, playmaking or shotcreating. It was Rose vs. the World.

I'm glad someone finally had the balls to put public pressure on Bulls management. They haven't been awful, but it's obvious they keep coming up short when it comes to adding a second skilled playmaker to compliment Derrick and ease his workload.

It's ridiculous to think that a PG can continually carry the huge burden of being primary scorer, primary playmaker, primary shot-clock bailout guy, all while guarding the primary ball-handler on the defensive end and getting run through picks all night. Derrick won't last long as an elite player in this league if that keeps up and I think that's where Reggie is coming from.

Look at the careers of similar guys like Iverson, Marbury, Francis. They were all brilliant early on and you can say all you want about their attitude/bball IQ, but it's obvious they all had serious physical declines earlier than they should have, likely as a result of the carrying a burden similar to Derrick's.

I want to see Derrick play at a high level for the next 8 years, win a championship or two, and possibly win another MVP. None of this will happen if he continues to get beat up every night during the regular season.

Just because their isn't a simple solution for this dilemna, doesn't mean that we should continually make excuses for Bulls management/ownership. They get paid to do a job and at some point need to get results regardless of the circumstances.

If I were a player in the Bulls locker room, I'd be PISSED if I read this in the papers. Yes, Derrick is a trooper, but whether it be Deng playing through his wrist injury, Noah playing through his ankle issues as well as issues with his foot, Kirk getting surgery to come back and gut it out for the rest of the season, and all the other players who is likely playing through injuries etc - Reggie needs to get his head out of his a$$ and open his eyes and stop acting like a naive wannabe hot shot.

What do you mean who is he? He's their franchise player's MANAGER and BROTHER. The Bulls saying that would be idiotic and insulting to D. Rose and his brother. They should say we're doing our best and keep their mouths shut.
