Re: Reggie Rose rips Bulls' inactivity
I still haven't seen a response about how Deng, Noah, Boozer, Thibs and the FO have helped get Derrick where he is today, and in turn, Reggie Rose.
These guys, who are great players according to Reggie, but not enough apparently, have helped his kid brother get back to back season with the best record in the league, helped him get that MVP and certainly helped Derrick that super max contract.
I get the intention of Reggie's bash, and i understand that we need to improve this team if we are to beat Miami and OKC, but i'd like some more appreciation to the short term success that Rose has had whilst being in the league too, which his teammates have helped him in.

I don't know what's better, the fact that Reggie said this, or watching a bunch of fans cry like little babies upon hearing it.
Reggie is absolutely right. Time and time and time and time again all we hear about is how financially motivated the Bulls franchise is. Well if they are gonna be so financially motivated rather than championship motivated, then they better expect getting some sh*t for it.
Bulls FO need to have their feet held to the fire, or else we'll definitely get financially motivated moves forever.

Wow, just wow.
Reggie Rose needs to shut his mouth. Who did Reggie think the Bulls were gonna get at the deadline to make the Bulls a title contender? I wasn't aware that an elite shooting guard was on the block.
Also, way to trash the rest of the team outside of Derrick, Lu, and Jo.
Did Derrick pick up the phone to recruit any superstar free agents when they were available?
Should Kobe sit since his team doesn't look like they are going to win the title this year? What about Dirk?

Not at all? Worst post ever, bro. Seriously.
bro his brother is making him come off looking like a classless prima donna who doesn't appreciate what the bulls have done for him. how do you think he got that Adidas deal? because the bulls made him primary focus, possibly to the detriment of the overall team structure. If he don't appreciate CHI I think the bulls can arrange a trade to UTAH of Toronto for him.

Re: Reggie Rose rips Bulls' inactivity
Couple of thoughts on this:
- There was no doubt in my mind that the stuff that Bucher was saying was coming from Reggie Rose. When Bucher said that he was speaking to "sources close to Rose", who did you think he was talking about? Reggie Rose has basically made every decision for Derrick since Derrick's been about 14 years old. I followed he college recruitment of Derrick Rose, and even back then, all of the college coaches knew that to get Derrick, you really needed to recruit Reggie. There's a reason why all 5 of Derrick Rose's finalists in his college recruitment were Adidas schools. Reggie has always had a plan for his brother.
- I'm not mad at all at Reggie for what he says. He wants his brother to be put in the best situation to win championships as soon as possible. He's frustrated because he knows the Bulls can't beat the Heat. There are no trades at the moment that will make the Bulls better than the Heat, but I actually like that Reggie is giving it to the FO. Maybe they need that. Maybe the next time they are contenders, they won't stand pat and go to war with a Keith Bogans-like figure when a guy like OJ Mayo is the the trade block. Maybe next time they have a guy like JR Smith, they won't trade him for nothing because he's not a choir boy. Maybe they'll find a way to not miss out on every single star player that comes on the market for the next 10 years like they have with Lebron, Wade, Bosh, Howard, Stoudemire, Allen, Garnett, Gasol, Carmelo, and James Harden, among others.
The Bulls are good at evaluating talent, but they lack stones. They don't make things happen - not to the level that they need to, anyway. If Reggie's comments give them a kick in the buns and snap them out of their conservative, Midwestern milieu, then that's a good thing. I highly doubt that his comments will have a negative impact on any of the Bulls players. They won't play any less hard or focus less because of what Reggie Rose says. Derrick would need to say something like Reggie did for there to be any blow to team chemistry, and he'll never do that.
Three cheers for Reggie Rose, I say.

That is basicallywhat i'm hearing here
For all the talk on this board, how often have we actually heard about teams ...actually wanting this wildly protected pick? Not many.
Right now, moves aren't even getting done for unprotected picks. It's a whole new NBA now.
What I'm taking from this is Reggie wants the Bulls to think and act more like a big market team instead of a forgettable middle-market club.
Someone mentioned that Reggie is more aware of what's going on behind the scenes, so maybe there was a deal or something he thought they should've made that they didn't. Who knows. There's a lot of possible reasons. But I think he mainly just doesn't want Rose carrying some group of players each game like he had to in 2010-11.

If they wouldn't drop the small market thinking for Michael Jordan, they aren't going to do it for Derrick Rose. The Bulls and Reinsdorf are who they are.
wtf are you talking about? they paid mj the most of any nba athlete ever.

There has been nothing but appreciation for years. This is basically the first absolute non-appreciative stance we've ever seen.

Rose would be Rose no matter where he was right now.

Re: Reggie Rose rips Bulls' inactivity
I'll give anyone a legit move that's available that the Bulls didn't do (since summer 2011) Just one move that the Bulls passed on or didn't do that would have added more top tier talent to the roster. Before anyone says Asik, Korver, etc; those are exactly the players that Reggie Rose is saying the Bulls don't need more of.

no but he could pass the **** ball, when he has three guys on him, that means someone is open, and not go through wall and shot 40 percent, he is great and all and he is still my favorite Bull, and im still hoping there is way to clear his image from all this brother crap, but its not like he is a perfect player, and its not like he played perfectly so we can blame the rest of team for our loss vs Miami...

People are acting like Reggie came out and said "Noah? Sucks. Deng? Sucks. Boozer? Double sucks." When that's not the case at all. Stop being apologists for the FO for a second and look at these comments from a fan's POV.
I'm not here to argue.

Yes because nobody else was out there to help him offensively. Rose shot for volume every game because he was forced to. That's Reggie's point. He took 24 shots a game. That's not even including shots that resulted in FTA's. He's your point guard. He shouldn't have to be tossing himself around like that for this team to win.

Guys like Lu, Jo, and Kirk are playing through a myriad of injuries for the good of the team and Reggie has the audacity to say "I hate to see my brother giving his heart and soul for the team only for them to put nothing around him."
Seriously, eff him.
+10000000000000
That ticked me off more than anything. And yes, I agree with most of what he's saying but ME saying it and HIM saying it are two completely different things. I'm just a fan. He's essentially the voice of his brother - even if he says he isn't.
Man, this ticked me off.
On the heels of a snoozer of a trade deadline and a game against the Heat tonight...this story will be the most talked about thing in the league.

DRose should be conservative, only play when he's ready. FWIW, Reggie Rose told Tribune last May there's "no way" DRose sits whole season.

I know this may sound odd, but does Reggie's idiotic statement actually going to put Rose on the floor faster then we expect? When Rose see's this he might realize fans are upset, and just to prove that he isn't playing because of the talent on the team, he will come back in play to prove the theory wrong.

Yes, he would still be a future star, but would he have an MVP, an ECF appearance, playing on a winning team, a huge contract etc without the help from the franchise that he has received, or would he be Kyrie Irving, battling away on teams 20 games under .500?

These guys are locked at the hip. So, this is effectively Derrick saying that our team isn't good enough and the FO needs to improve it if they expect him to play on this team.
