This makes me think Kevin Love will join them eventually. He said the same thing during the Olympics.

I'm sorry, but some of the posts in here are so stupid and kind of infuriating that I don't even know where to begin.

So I guess the best coach of the year, two current allstars, and great incoming talent within the next few years is not enough? I thought Drose wanted all this? He wanted to be the man in Chicago, and he got his wish.

Why are you so disapointed? If anything this means Rose wants to light a fire under the FO to get the pieces HERE to win our city championships. Rose wants to win, and with teams like OKC and Miami around that's hard to do especially when you only have one guy on the team who can consistently score. People are acting like he came out and said he wants to be traded, yeeesh get a grip.

I agree with Duck here. It is important that we love Rose as a player and also maybe some story-lines like how he made it out of a tough neighborhood. But, don't start falling in love with everything Derrick Rose does as you might setting yourself up for disappointment. I have always felt odd whenever KC Johnson or some other media guy praises Derrick as he if the "purest" basketball player in the NBA. He is human and he will make mistakes and I think overall he is publicly a likable person and maybe a lot of times in private too.

I also think Derrick is growing up and is using his brother(a non-employee of the Bulls) to push his problems out. He is probably scared after his injury that he might not have a long career and wants to maximize his winning. He might not be the Allen Iverson or Stephen Marburys of the past but I am sure those thoughts have probably gone through his head.

But see, that's the problem. Its starting to look more and more like the Rose we "knew" isn't a real person. That the real one is the type that with no regret steals a scholarship from another kid, defrauds the NCAA and falsifies SAT records.

I love Derrick Rose. And I want to keep loving him. But lets be clear about one thing: There is no way that Reggie Rose would say this unless Derrick Rose agreed with him. None, zip, zero. This isn't Billy Carter. This guy has been in charge of Rose's career since before Derrick could drive.

Derrick Rose just threw his teammates and management under the bus. He just did it through his brother's mouth. Couple this with all the reports, the USA Today article that the FO didn't know about, the leaks to Bucher. This has been an intentional campaign directed at today's trade deadline, revealed only when the Bulls made no moves.

This is bad, bad, bad, bad, bad. Real bad. We may very well may be heading into a Carmelo Anthony level of drama in Chicago. Perhaps not from Rose directly, but its coming. And Derrick Rose is about to experience something he's never had to deal with before: Tough questions from the media. Tough, personal questions, that call his character directly into question. Many players have revealed themselves in this context (Melo, LeBron, Dwight) to be what they really, and not what they were packaged as. Rose has been getting back rubs from the local and national media his whole career. He's about to get wedgies instead.

Rose is going to come out and say all the right things and a lot of you will feel better and say "That's our guy! Screw you Reggie." But as the Joker says, "Its all part of the plan."

This is bad day in Bullsville. I will still be rooting hard for him. But Derrick Rose, unlike the Bears, is not who we thought he was. Don't let what happens next fool you into thinking otherwise.

But Duck, I think you are getting a little carried away. This is what the interviews are going to be like:

Reporter: So, Derrick, your brother just threw your teammates under the bus, what do you have to say?
Derrick: I love my teammates
Reporter: But, don’t you agree that having better teammates would give you a better chance at winning a championship?
Derrick: We would have a better chance at winning a championship if I played better. I saw the mistakes I made and am getting better from them. I have worked really hard during my rehab and expect to come back stronger than ever. I hope my teammates also keep working to improve their games.
Reporter: Don’t you think you need better teammates to get by the Heat?
Derrick: That’s up to management. I play and they put together the team. I certainly want to have the best possible teammates around me so that we have the best chance to win.
Reporter: Are Deng and Noah good enough to compliment you to beat the Heat?
Derrick: I like our chances. Those guys are all-stars. I love Noah. He’s like my big brother on the team. And, this is about our whole team, not just one or two or three players. We can always get better and I know that Gar and Pax are always working and looking at ways to improve us.

Blah, Blah, Blah….

He thought we had enough. It wasn't obvious then. It's now obvious that we don't have enough to beat them. And something else people aren't realizing is that the Heat are WAYYY better now than they were when we played them in the ECF. We are arguably worse, and we definitely aren't better.

What a foolish and idiotic comment to say. Reggie's his brother who has protected him since he was a kid. He's not a hanger on.

Exactly.

I have never seen a board completely turn on a player so fast. If it wasn't for Derrick we'd be watching Joakim and Ben Gordon trying to carry this team.
I'm not here to argue.

You think the other Bulls players don't want a stronger team? It's just no one wants a stronger team at the expense of their own self being traded.

That's what its starting to look like.

Look, we all know Rose could use help, but what his circle did is a absolute HUGE no no. He deserves some of the fire he's about to receive. Gonna be a big lesson in life when it comes to business and why you sometimes need to keep family out of it.

I don't see this as Rose trying to force the Bulls FO hands, rather I see him as a kid who just found out santa wasn't real.

I think more than anything Derrick might be a little hurt and lost in realizing that the Bulls motivations are money related, not solely winning a championship. Rose thinks, breathes and lives basketball, and is humble, I don't think that's changed for a minute. I think what might have changed is his faith in the organization; that what he thought was an equal commitment by the FO to doing everything possible to put a contender together, much in the way Rose is committed to doing everything possible to win a game, is a facade. I have to wonder if Derrick is doing some soul searching right now after the realization that the Bulls FO is not who he thought they were.

The only reason for DRose to allow Reggie to say this is because he wants to win a title. He is locked up long term. We should all applaud him for calling out JR for his cheap bastard approach. Hopefully this leads to a true big market approach that we have all hoped for. IF he was pulling a Howard he would be saying this kind of thing when he is already half way out the door. The fact that he is doing it now to me indicates he wants to win and win here in Chicago and he wants the FO to be as committed financially as he is emotionally and physically
