The guy basically puts the Bulls back on the national map, becomes MVP, and leads the team to the ECF. And if that were't enough to show how important he is, the team proceeds to get bounced by the 16th seed in the playoffs without Rose.

After alllll of that, one article coming from Rose's brother leads to fans calling for him to be traded and saying he's a fake person. Hilarious. I can't even imagine what would happen if Rose demanded to be traded or left the Bulls after his contract ran.

No, the lesson is that if you don't speak up and demand things (remember when Kobe demanded to be traded, and then voila, Lakers built a championship team around him) or simply leave for greener pastures (remember when KG left the T-Wolves and won a championship; or when Lebron left the Cavs and won a championship), you probably won't get sh*t.

Kobe demanded the Lakers trade Andrew Bynum for Jermaine O'Neal or Jason Kidd.

How did that work out for them?

The Bulls lost in the Eastern Conference Finals the last time Rose was healthy. To a team with three Hall of Famers on it.

I agree with KC. And yet, this is probably why Rose bypassed the local media to go to USA Today about his status.

If Derrick Rose were only about winning, he would have taken a one year contract.

He didn't. He took a max year contract, at the supermax amount. And he did so because he wanted the money and security that go with a long-term guaranteed contract.

Part of signing a contract like that is that you are obligated to go and play with the team that the Bulls put out there along side you.

The idea that he would sit out because he does not think the current team is good enough to win a championship makes me puke. If he's still hurt, then fine. But if there is no longer a greater chance of injury as a result of the ACL tear, then get your butt out there. Even if it means that you are only 88% of the player you were before the injury. Especially because every doctor who has spoken on the issue says that you have to play, in games, to complete your recovery.

People keep saying two all-stars like that means something. Guess what? Neither one of those All-Stars are great scorer and they're 3rd and 5th options on a championship team. They are both primarily defensive players. We have defense to spare. We need a 2nd option.Just because we have two "All-Stars" doesn't mean we have enough to win.

Exactly, and it's a joke that people are blaming Rose for the lack of progress or saying that Rose "doesn't want to embrace being the man." He's embraced being one of the main faces of the **** NBA, let alone the city of Chicago AND the Bulls. He's taken on a **** ton of pressure and done the best possible job he could.

If Reggie hadn't said this, months from now we would be going into the offseason with the mindset that the Bulls are going to continue to cut costs and do another financial based offseason. Hopefully Reggie just shook **** up and there's going to be a lot more pressure on Paxson, Gar and Reinsdorf to act like a big market for once.

Reggie is not separate from Derrick. If Derrick wants to distance himself from the comments, great. I think he should do it, and I'll be happy when he does it.

As far as people here not being 'grateful' for Derrick or whatever -- listen, he's a player here. Players can disturb things or be with the team. If Reggie is going to disturb things, it's on Derrick to keep him in line. Lets wish it was different, but it's not.

You can't have your brother running his mouth saying the team isn't good enough.

I don't see how anyone can be happy that at 24 years old, Derrick Rose has entered the "I'm tired of losing, I'm criticizing the players on my team to the media" stage of his career. Especially when the last time he was healthy, he lost in a Conference Finals.

It pains me to say this but a divide is developing that may one day end in Derrick Rose playing for a different team. Either that or the Front Office will be fired. But the relationship looks tenuous, at best, right now.

Maybe all the people that ripped Friedell and the media, for making up a story, or overreacting, want to apologize now.

I think there is little chance Reggie just flies off the handle and says this stuff without Derrick's knowledge or even slight similar feelings.

All this stuff is managed by the Rose camp and starting with the USA Today piece, its been a targeted campaign of increasing pressure.

This is not really good news for the Bulls, unless some thinking changes.

Eh, the USA Today piece was definitely targeted (and set up by adidas) but this? How does Reggie Rose coming out and speaking out like this help the brand? I'm not reading too much into this because it reads extemporaneous, unplanned, and unpolished. This was Reggie venting in a public way.

Which isn't to say that Derrick doesn't want better teammates. I mean, Miami ahead of them, and who wouldn't want another guy to roll with like Durant has in Westbrook? So I'm sure he wants to get more talent here, and the Bulls want to do it. But venting that in public, through Reggie, doesn't accomplish anything strategically, and strikes such a discordant note here because it is so atypical to the way Rose likes to engage the public (wholesome, bland, blameless).

So I think there's a very good chance Reggie was off the rez on his own on this one, and his little brother is probably pretty mad about this. Rose and the team both don't need any extra distractions right now.

But see, that's the problem. Its starting to look more and more like the Rose we "knew" isn't a real person. That the real one is the type that with no regret steals a scholarship from another kid, defrauds the NCAA and falsifies SAT records.

What a foolish and idiotic comment to say. Reggie's his brother who has protected him since he was a kid. He's not a hanger on.

I said I respect him for protecting him and steering him right. But Derrick is a grown ass man now, and yeah, his brother is somewhat of a hanger on living off the sweat and talent of somebody else. For instance, Bands have managers and many who were with them before they made it big. That doesn't mean that once the machine gets too big for them, they don't have to step aside and do what is best for the talent.

What Reggie did hurt his brother. If the comments truly echo Derrick's, then the smart move from Reggie would have been to say. "I understand how you feel bro, but now is not the time to address this matter"... "the trade deadline just passed and there isn't a damn thing that can be done about it at this point" . ...or how about? "Derrick let's act like men and not air our dirty laundry over social media, we will have class and dignity and take the matter up with JR and Gar and Pax in private and let them know how we feel and what the consequences may be if something isn't done about it"

THAT would have been protecting him and managing his best interests the smart and intelligent way. NOT making statements like this after the deadline passes and subjecting Derrick to a very uncomfortable and awkward situation with his teammates. And, hell yeah, it will. You think Derrick wants to look his teammates in the face... the ones other than Noah and Deng, who his brother was so sure to point out as being good players.
