I almost included that same opinion in my first post in the thread, by the way, but didn't for the same reason. Instead I took a shot at him cheating on the SAT's, which in hindsight was just as much a distraction as saying he's a dimwit.

To me though, it doesn't matter if Rose is "telling" Reggie to do it (I don't think that's the case at all) or if Rose is passively agreeing to go along with this plan that Team Derrick has concocted (which he obviously did, and took an active role in executing it). Both are red flags, albeit for slightly different reasons.

To me the difference is there's 5 years before Rose has to make another decision about his contract, and I think the likelihood that Reggie controls him THEN is low. Probably because Reggie does ridiculous things like this.

But I can't twist that Rose being a few silver dollar pancakes short of a stack probably isn't a good thing for anybody.

If Atlanta doesn't offer him that outrageous contract JJ is probably a Bull right now. After all the dust settled with the LeBron drama, it was clear Johnson/Boozer was the next best option for the Bulls. I'm happy they didn't looking at JJ's current production and considering what the Bulls would have payed him, but man that 2010 team with Joe Johnson would have beat Miami.

DRose is a dumb guy, sorry to say, and is has nothing to do with any recent comments. He had to have someone take the SATs for him, and it isn't like he needed a great score to gain admission to freaking Memphis as a basketball star. If that isn't enough evidence just listen to him speak.

Derrick lets his family do his thinking for him, and that is what is scary about Reggie's comments.

I have been annoyed with the whole the return proganda, hyping his return when his teammates constantly play through pain and injury, while he can't even sit on the bench and support his teammates.

And this from Derrick "I don't recruit players (aside from the great Captain Kirk)" but I need more stars/help.

Drose doesn't play this year and I'm officially off the bandwagon!!!

Oh boy.

Some people need to go jogging or something

I am going to lift later, maybe that will help, lol.

I have been frustrated with the Bulls play and Derricks absence, and Reggie's comments lit a fire under my a$$. I know I am overreacting but hey isn't that what messages boards are for ; )

You know what. You're right. I'm not going to post on this thread unless something major happens. You may not be able to be a true fan where you're at so posting here will let you vent.

And lifting does help release stress

He's not an idiot for saying that but he just doesn't understand Jerry, Paxton and Foreman.

It's all based on timing.

The options that were available well.. weren't ever available.

The better question is who does Reggie want? If he mentioned somebody I didn't see it.

I saw "You know all roads to the championship lead through Miami" The Bulls clearly tried to grab the same three players if not two of the better ones. Chris Bosh obviously wasn't coming based off what he said to the media.

The Boozer signing I'd say was a mistake till this day. He might not be if the team grabs rings during his stint with the Bulls. I suppose Chicago could of had other teams dumping exceptional contracted/expiring players to them for a great price with their cap space. GarPax also could of had great trade bait to move up in future drafts. Shabazz Muhammad anyone? By the way, this year could be the year for surprise if Derrick Rose returns at the end of the season or playoffs to take the cake at the Finals. That's assuming he comes back being the same player while also making better choices on the court.

its amazing to me to see so many bashing rose on pure hearsay, to watch so many taking a colin cowherd fabricated opinion and treating it like gospel that rose didnt recruit. just amazing.

You message board geniuses are funny people. You feel you can judge people stupid or dumb based on what? a 2 minute soundbyte? You guys have no idea what the true relationship is between Rose and Reggie. You don't know if Rose wanted him to say what he did or not; you don't know how much Rose knows about the team cutting salary or not; you basically don't know anything. But you feel free to comment on the stupidity of other people, just because they do something you don't agree with. No wonder the players sometimes despise the fans.

Concerning timing, I just dont think there was much to lose this season. Never have. I was a tank/restructure the roster lineup guy from the get go. Who knows maybe Reggie was too. I get that this may be disruptive, but it would also be also stir things up in the off season. I'm not worried about the Bulls dropping a few games because of this although frankly I dont see that happening.

I don't think its going to impact the team's play. That still isn't the point of the timing issue. There really is no defending the timing. It couldn't have been worse. The team is playing, the trade deadline is over. This public threat could have been just as impactful to pressure the FO if made the day after the last game of the year.

Its just not defensible that Rose did this to his teammates right now.

I guess, i have seen some respected posters on this board insert the knife and twist.

I thought most people would of agreed with Reggie but also admit it was bad timing and a little harsh.

Now I think half the board hates Derrick the simpleton, lol.

People are mad at Derrick b/c Reggie said something 90% of Bulls fans agree with. Oh no the timing, the timing! People are freaking out over nothing.

That's the opposite of stupid.

You & others are in one breath admitting that those players weren't coming here, but in the same breath, you & others are criticizing Rose for not pursuing those players.

the opposite of stupid is smart...

but biggie, i am not criticizing rose for not pursuing those players. not at all, actually. i wholeheartedly supported derricks stance back then. i am criticizing his criticism of the FO for "not doing enough" when he himself did nothing to help. (a text to LBJ saying "hey lebron, i like you, chicago is nice" doesnt cut it).

BIGGIEsmalls 23 wrote:
derrick has said he will "let them do their job" in regards to the FO. we see now, that stance has changed. he is now just like any other superstar that wants to be the GM.

If it his stance has changed, maybe it's a good thing.

its actually not. can you name a superstar that has good scouting abilities? michael jordan? dwight howard? lebron james? these things never end up well.

He's basically right, however, offers no solution or hypothetical scenario. I mean, if you're going to air out management, you might as well air out the players to. WHO exactly would he have liked to see come here? WHO exactly would he have liked to see traded? Does he feel Deng could have been moved for a more productive player in 2010? Does he feel Boozer was a bad acquisition? Because as of now, there really isn't anything the Bulls could have done outside of a lateral move. OJ Mayo likely could have been had a year or two ago in a 3-way deal involving Deng and a pick. Other than gambling on a lottery pick for proven talent, I don't see what else could have been done.

Why thank you.

Well, my genius was mostly involved. His inability to get an average SAT score without cheating was part. His dull, cow-like eyes may also have had a role.

You guys have no idea what the true relationship is between Rose and Reggie.

Yeah, that's why I said I think," for like...all of it.

You don't know if Rose wanted him to say what he did or not; you don't know how much Rose knows about the team cutting salary or not; you basically don't know anything.

Why is the nature of a fairly uninformed but passionate response on a message board a foreign finding to you? It's every opinion on here. You don't see a lot of points going-- "LUOL DENG SCORED 17 POINTS LAST NIGHT DAMNIT", followed by a vicious "IT WAS 14, YOU TWAT" Facts are generally not good discussion points.

But you feel free to comment on the stupidity of other people, just because they do something you don't agree with.

Thank you, I will. Because I certainly do in real life. And I...THINK most people do too.

No wonder the players sometimes despise the fans.

I'm not worried Derrick Rose will read this. I am more worried that Derrick Rose cannot read this.
