If I'm Luol Deng and Joakim Noah, I'm furious at Rose right now. They have willed this team into success and have earned All-Star selections. They deserve better than that from the Rose family.

+ 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

How was he gonna change the minds of those players in 2010?

--Was Lebron, Wade, & Bosh changing their plans because Rose sent them a 4 page love letter?

--Was JJ turning down the max contract from Atlanta because Rose sent him a 4 page love letter?

--Was Amare turning down the $100 million contract from NY because Rose sent him a 4 page love letter?

Only two big name free agents remained......Boozer & Lee.

You're missing the point. You cannot say "boy, I wish there were better players here" when in fact, when better players could be had, you didn't even ATTEMPT to recruit them to Chicago.

And you're really making the point that makes Reggie Rose sound stupid: what player did the front office not get for Rose? Reggie said that Deng and Noah are nice and he wants better. Who would that be?

Reggie Rose sat in his usual courtside seat behind the west basket and bristled when I approached him during a first-quarter timeout to discuss his inflammatory comments.

"Reggie, do you have anything you want to add to your comments today?'' I asked.

"No comment,'' he answered.

"Do you regret anything you said?''

"What would I regret?''

"That you put Derrick in an uncomfortable spot.''

"That's my brother. That's my brother who you say I put in an uncomfortable spot.''

Reggie's eyes widened and he paused.

"Remember that!'' he said. "No comment.
''

I think he is saying Derrick knows what he is saying and possibly agrees with his brother.

LOL, are you serious? This thread is almost 100 pages long. Every angle of this story has been hashed and rehashed 35 times at minimum.

I'm sure it has, but in the midst of it certain posters continue to ignore what Reggie is saying but perpetuate this argument that Rose "threw his teammates under the bus". As if the assertion wasn't ridiculous enough in that these posters have no proof that these aren't independent opinions of Reggie and not Rose's opinions.

As I stated earlier in this thread the guys I've heard Rose wanted were #1 Joe Johnson #2 David Lee and he was also fond of Anthony Morrow.
Just Derrick Rose presence on the bench would make the Bulls a 55 win team.

Reggie Rose wants the Bulls to stop being a FO that's dominated by reactionary, conservative, penny-pinching moves, and act like a big market team for once in their damn lives. This is the Chicago Bulls, not the New Orleans Pelicans. This team has not fallen outside of the Top 3 in attendance in 10 YEARS.

Like, how does that happen, yet the only moves we see the team talking about are moves that are salary dumping players?

What more do we as fans have to do to support the team before they finally start spending and thinking like a big market club? The moves and mindset of the FO reflect on the court too. We might be the only big market team that doesn't look like a big market team when you watch a game on TV. Fans support the Bulls, but the Bulls don't support the fans and it's tiresome.

Lets really get to the heart of the matter. Certain types of fans are proud of what Reggie is saying and see him as some voice of voiceless and are chanting Go Go Go because they are the insecure types that need to live through something like that.

Whatever gets you through the day, men.

Here you go:

panthermark wrote:Not saying Rose isn't a max player, but as far as a salary cap goes...if you want the $10M back to keep Korver and Brewer, look in Rose's checking account.

How about you quit playing stupid? The clear implication, if not explicitly made, of your statement is that we didn't keep Korver and Brewer because of Rose.

Stand by what you said. Don't make a cute statement that tries to prove a point, then run away from that point when confronted about it.

reading comprehension, man.

saying "if you want to know where the 10m needed to keep korver and brewer is, look in rose's checking account" is not the same as saying "derrick rose is not a max player" nor "derrick rose should not be paid max" nor "derrick rose shouldve taken a pay cut"

he is stating a fact.

I think certain types of fans are proud of what Reggie is saying because they're tired of supporting the team unconditionally and at their peak in emotional investment, yet the only thing the Bulls can think about is how to get under the luxury tax and make reactive, penny-pinching moves every year.

The Bulls have not made one clear-cut, non-draft related basketball trade under John Paxson. He's been the general manager for 10 years. That's a problem.

Same can be said about the ones defending him. Just because he brings key points, that doesn't give him the rigHt to even suggest Rose sits due to bein unhappy. I don't give a flying f@#k if Rose has to play with four Nazr's, if he can play, he plays. Like Chuck said yesterday, let the famous people talk about famous people, otherwise shut the hell up.

Derrick Rose calls Joe Johnson:

"He Joe, I would love to have you here in Chicago. I think you are the perfect fit"

JJ: " Hey Derrick, ok man...because of you I will turn down the:

$16,324,500
$18,038,573
$19,752,645
$21,466,718
$23,180,790
$24,894,863

offer. By the Way....I don't even need so much money and Who cares about Money when I can be in the same Team with you?"

Yeah, Derrick...it's all your fault...lol

OH FML. This crap again?

Why are people in such belief that Derrick Rose would have somehow derailed what had been played 3 years previous? LMAO

Announcement: LEBRON,WADE and BOSH PLANNED THIS PEOPLE.

All the stuff they did was all for S%its and Giggles.

This is like you working at Walmart and a Billionaire says to you in 2 years, come work for me. I will give you twice your current salary, pay off your house, cars, kids college fees and you can work your own hours.

So if Super Walmart comes to you and says work for us, it would just be for amusement knowing that your life is already set.

hindsight is 20/20. apparently all of the teams that courted those guys did not get the memo.

not to mention, you need to make the effort if you want a chance. "thats why we play the games"

again- i am not saying rose shouldve recruited. i am merely saying he should not criticize the FO for not doing enough if he was anti-recruiting, esp in todays NBA.

It's not really derrick's responsibilty to get players.

Return to Chicago Bulls
