Those teams never had real interest in Knight though. Kanter was always the favoiter for Utah, and if Val didn't fall Toronto would have traded their pick to the Pistons, and then the Pistons would have taken Tristan Thompson. Toronto would have probably taken Knight, or Bismack with the 8th pick. The Kings would have taken Kawhi Leonard if the Maloofs didn't involved in the draft process, and demanded they take Jimmer. Knight was taken where he was suppose to go.

Knight dropped on draft night and at that time Stuckey had just finished the last month of the season on a tear dropping dimes like crazy. Joe could have easily drafted somebody else.

Drummond, while not to a lot of us, was a huge question mark to most everybody. DA had him falling all the way to the 15th pick the day before the draft. He was outplayed by Thomas Robinson in workouts who was just traded for nothing.

And lets not forget a guy we all underrate on this board, Kyle Singler. Joe took Kyle Singler and none of us were all that ecstatic. He'll be a solid role player in this league for a decade. That's what you're looking for in a 2nd round pick.

Dumars always finds gems in late first, and second round picks. Afflalo was a great pick. Too bad he got traded for nothing.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this matter.

Huge stretch. You are trying to make it into a different argument. Admit you were wrong about Dumars ability to draft good players. :)

When he drafts well it's luck, but when a FA/draftee doesn't work out it's Joe's fault. It's a double standard which is stupid.

The state of the pistons is pretty horrible. But there's a variety of reasons why it's come to this, not just Joe Dumars.
The low attendance is a result of both the economic situation and the end of a successful era in detroit.
Fans seem very spoiled after the "goin to work" pistons. Some of Joes moves have been questionable since, but he's put the team in a good position moving forward.

That's a horrible analogy. It's not a double standard. Those were obvious picks to make. If they don't pan out, then it isn't his fault.

The point is when things go well, Joe is lucky. When things go bad, it's his fault.
Who got blamed and still gets blamed for the Darko pick???

You have to take the good and the bad.

Well things haven't been going well for about 5 years, so we're definitely taking the bad right now.
