List of NBA Salaries since their debut?
Is there a site or list somewhere of NBA player salaries when they first came into the league? I know of sites that list their current contract salaries, but nothing before that. Also, what about for all NBA players from the 90s? I was curious in just finding out how much Olajuwon made his rookie year.

Towards the bottom of every page they have salaries Olajuwon made Parsons money his 1st year.
In that Barkley interview he said 76ers offered him 75K

Inflation adjusted, I'd put that 850k between 5 to 8m in modern money. I see it doesn't list his 84-85 salary. It definitely misses a lot of salaries there, too.
75k what?

What lol... that math is all wrong if just attributing to inflation. Assuming 3% inflation per year, $850,000 will compound into the following:
5 yrs: $985,283
10 yrs: $1,142,329
15 yrs: $1,324,127
20 yrs: $1,535,195
25 yrs: $1,779,711
Think about the rule of 72 (72/3=69)... it would take 69 yrs for $850,000 to double assuming 3% growth every year.
The salary increases starting in the mid-90s is more of a function of the exponential growth of basketball's popularity which coincided with the greatest American economic expansion in recent history. The value of the NBA skyrocketed from the early 90s. Just in 2012 the value of NBA clubs increased by 30%! Imagine compounding a remotely similar rate for 20 yrs.

Yeah, dude I know how to calculate that, the problem is that I trust government reported inflation exactly 0%.
From what I've seen it's averaged 5-11% since the 80s. Let's call it a middle-ground 7%.
5 years: 1.4m
10 years: 1.96m
15 years: 2.75m
20 years: 3.87m
25 years: 5.42m
30 years: 7.61m
Whatever number you think it is, we have NOT had 3% inflation since 1984...
I disagree with a LOT of things they exclude.
Here's a partial list: http://www.frbsf.org/education/activiti ... /0410.html
My personal opinion is that for anyone under 45, money has halved in value about once per decade. Feel free to disagree, though.
Edit: This rule does not tend to apply to consumer electronics, for which government reported inflation is probably overreported...

Charlie Thomas bought the Rockets in 1982 from the Maloofs for $10 million
Les Alexander bought the team in 1993 for $85 million
in 2007 Forbes said the team was worth $439 million
in 2011 Forbes said the team was worth $443 million

Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming
