He had more passing yards than Rodgers and he almost ran for 200 yards against the Packers . This guy has a lot of potential

Still Rodgers

Kapernick has a lot of potential. Running quarterbacks are much more prone to knee injuries and concussions though. Rodgers is the safe bet.

Meh. The 49ers are super stacked. The Seahawks also are really strong.

Young players are getting way too much credit at times.

Bus Cook apparently doesn’t read PFT.

Cook represents Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. And Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that an unnamed representative of Wilson (i.e., Cook or someone who works for him) called the Seahawks this week “insisting that something be done” to adjust Wilson’s slotted third-round rookie contract.

Something definitely will be done. In two years.

As we’ve mentioned plenty of times (and specifically in relation to Wilson), the new CBA prevents rookie contracts from being renegotiated until three of the mandatory four years have been completed. While Mort gives Cook an escape hatch by suggesting that the call may have been placed in jest, it’s a joke that the statement was even uttered to the Seahawks.

Packers Send Defensive Coaches To College To Figure Out Read Option

The Green Bay Packers are sending their defensive coaches to Texas A&M to study the read-option offense to figure out how to counter it.

The 49ers gained 579 yards against the Packers in their playoff game.

“Five hundred seventy-nine, that’s a number that will stick in our focus as a defense throughout the offseason. We’re studying the read option, the teams that are doing it in the NFL,” Mike McCarthy said. “We’re even going to the college ranks, we’ll have a couple college coaches come in, spend some time with our staff. Actually, our defensive staff is going to take a trip to Texas A&M, Kevin Sumlin is someone I have great respect for and with his ability to share from both the offensive side and the defensive side his experience in the read option. It’s something from an education, preparation standpoint that we will grow as a staff and be better prepared for in the future.”

Smart move by the Packers & I'm sure that other teams will be doing the same, if they're not already.

After Kaepernick's senior year at Nevada quite a few teams went out there to study the pistol from Chris Ault and also how to defend it. I know the Falcons, Saints, Niners, Steelers, and Seahawks all went there. It's a smart move.

Good exposure for Sumlin too. He will be coaching in the NFL before long.
