Anyone else been paying attention to JaMarcus Russell trying to make a comeback? What do you guys think?

He should switch to nose tackle. Better suits his "skill" set

Since he's under 300 pounds (and probably still over 290), Russell is more of a 4-3 defensive tackle than a 3-4 nose tackle. If he keeps at it, he can slim down to a 3-4 defensive end pretty soon.

Somehow he got Larry Fitzgerald to play receiver for him in his workout. I still don't think he ever gets back.

What a wasted opportunity he had.

Being an LSU fan, it's very disappointing to say the least.

bit harsh on kwame brown

while both are bust, brown has still turned in a 12 year career of being a solid low post defender, still a huge bust for a number 1 but not in the same league of busts as russell

I might be able to throw some decent looking passes if Fitzgerald would agree to catch for me. He'd have to run back from his route to get them, though.

just call all the routes that way, run 20 yards down field and cut back 15.

Yeah, Russell wishes he could have a Kwame Brown career arc.

On a semi-related note, when was the last time the Raiders actually hit on a 1st rounder...? I think you have to go all the way back to 03 when they picked Asoumgha, and even he hasn't been an unqualified success. You have to go back to Woodson in 98 before you find a truly qualified stud drafted by Oakland in the 1st round, which seems statistically impossible given how many high picks they've had.

I am here waiting for him, Vince Young, Tim Tebow.

I only started watching football recently, but I wish I saw this guy play.
I can understand how you feel. You worked hard, studying for the spelling bee, and I suppose you feel you let everyone down, and you made a fool of yourself and everything. But did you notice something, Charlie Brown? The world didn't come to an end.

Actually rooting for this guy luck. Doubt he blew through all that money so it's definitely for the love of the game.
