He will probably get over 31,7 PER and 0,32 WS/48 after today's game. He is quite spurting up there.

Re: The Lebron Thread (Pt. 2)
The thing with Ortg is the Heat's Ortg is being held down because they are a horrible offensive rebounding team which isn't because of Lebron.
The Suns were a bad offensive rebounding team but for the most part teams get a boost in Ortg from how good their offensive rebounders are which rarely has anything to do with the perimeter stars.
I think that it is the one factor that should be isolated when looking at Ortg because the other three kind of work in concert and there is a crowding out affect because there is only one ball. Offensive rebounding doesn't really affect any of the other three factors, is more individualized and doesn't have an opportunity cost like other offensive manuevers (eg if Lebron has the ball, Wade can't have the ball but if Lebron goes for an offensive rebound so can one of his teammates)
By splitting the data up into Ortg/Drtg we are splitting the game up into Offense and Defense which I think underrates perimeter players who play on bad rebounding teams.
If we split it up into Offense/Defense/Rebounding I think Lebron comes out even better.
I was saying this when posters were using Ortg to argue that Lebron was a bad fit in offenses (which seems silly now) or that he didn't "lift" his teammates on offense (ditto) and when everyone was crowing about the Thunder having the better offense to prop up Durant over Lebron, even though Durant was getting a huge bonus for his teammates rebounding better than the Heat which had nothing to do with him.
I know that the data probably isn't available but we should start teasing out team rebounding when looking at star perimeter players based on Ortg

What about defense? The Heat's defense is now -1.0 from LA after being below average earlier.

Looks like the improvement on both sides of the floor came in the rebounding department and the turnover department. Miami's rebounding has improved by about 4% on the offensive side and 3% on the defensive side. They're also taking care of the ball much better (credit Lebron) and forcing more turnovers as well (large credit to Lebron again).

According to Nba.com, the Heat in the last 19 games are 1st in Net rating (+14.6) and 7th in D rating (99.6), and 1st in O rating (114.2) by 3.9 pts/100. Granted their pace numbers are little different which would explain the discrepancy. The heat are 3rd in DRB% in that span. If they permanently improve their Defensive rebounding, we could see them run off a historically great postseason.

Re: The Lebron Thread (Pt. 2)
Started off pretty mediocre but got it going a bit in the 2nd quarter. Miami with a 134.3 ORTG in the first half. Somewhere near 145 with Lebron on the floor so far

Probably the most human he's looked since the loss in Portland. 2nd straight night with <60% TS

Re: The Lebron Thread (Pt. 2)
Nice to see LBJ still got that 1 on 1 defense, completely shut down Kyrie since the 3 min mark
And they said he was the best clutch scorer in the league
And they said he was the best clutch scorer in the league
Stop being so disrespectful.

Re: The Lebron Thread (Pt. 2)
There were 2-3 shots that physics declared as misses when they very well should have been in. Otherwise, solid game from Lebron but the win belonged to Wade with his heroics. Lebron did a great job of preventing Kyrie from doing what he does best in the 4th.

Had a few nice assists in the 2nd half (mainly in the start of the 3rd quarter) but other than that it was a bad half for LeBron. Missed most of his jump shots today and was finishing poorly at the rim in traffic (got snubbed for a couple of foul calls but oh well). Still finished with 28 and a pretty decent game overall, but he didn't have his usual impact in the 4th quarter. Wade got his back and took over tough.
Oh yeah, he was put on Kyrie in the last two minutes of the game and did great on him.

It's funny how even in lebron's "off" games now he's still either putting up a triple-double or scoring over 25 points on over 50% fg.

It's just the ridiculous standard he's set for himself now.

Here's an interesting nugget from the article for you, though:
ESPN wrote:James ranks among the league's best in catch-and-shoot situations (minimum 90 attempts), according to Synergy Sports tracking.

Danny Green 113 238 47.5 69.5

Re: The Lebron Thread (Pt. 2)
What do you think has prevented him from becoming a better ft shooter? That's really one of the few weaknesses he still has anymore. He doesn't suck but could be more elite at it.
