Rinse and Repeat?

After 1,000 computer simulations of all teams' games the rest of the season, Jazz projected as 8th seed to face #1 seed Spurs.

Does Al Jefferson have a prediction on how that series will end?

The Spurs would destroy us. I would frankly rather not make the playoffs than be the 8th seed. I'd honestly rather face the Thunder or Clippers.

Rather face the thunders or clippers. Prediction for any series would be a crap load of Al Jefferson posters by the beginning to the end of the spurs bench, all of which featuring him staring up in the air while screening our guys for a spurs dunk.

Be carefull with what you wish, for the Jazz can indeed slide down from the playoff picture in no time...

I wonder if that takes in the fact that Kobe guaranteed the Lakers were making the playoffs.... hmmm

I'm serious, though. I would rather move a few spots up in the draft than face the Spurs. I would prefer any other team in the league.

If this is correct, I would also put the X factor of Kobe, meaning Jazz most likely to not make it if Kobe wants it his way, the only thing holding him back is Howard, the second Howard is on like Donkey Kong, Jazz will be singing the blues.

Part of me doesn't want to make it, cause if we can't make playoffs by benching Favors, Kanter, Burks and Hayward, and starting Paul, Al, and Marvin, then maybe, just maybe next year we actually dump these zero's and move up these hero's. Plus we could also use a better draft pick next year so that we actually have a chance of not just making 8th.

Were one more losing streak from 9th place.

I would just like to see "the change", cause now were working on 3 years of the same mediocre'ness that hasn't gotten us any closer to being division leader which is the real goal.

With young guys at starter, it wouldn't be a question of whether they can be playoff contenders but a matter of when, which would probably be their first-second year at reins. Even if they have the same old mediocre staff, I think they could do it, and do it much better.

I know the media likes to hate on the Jazz, but if we're being fair, Golden State has been playing a lot worse lately. Indiana shut them down tonight and they're 3-7 in their last 10. If the Lakers make the playoffs, it's probably at the expense of us or the Warriors.

Which surprises me that the website linked above has GSW in the 6th spot. I could easily be wrong but I would be pretty shocked if that happened.

Agreed. Hope Jazzmen realize. Tank jobs like GS' one last season should be severely punished by the NBA... or by karma...

The Jazz get an extra $5-7 mill at least if they make the playoffs. That's money ownership won't have to worry about in future years when they're making cost conscious decisions to "keep in the black". Plus, this is a bad draft, the difference between 14 and 16 at this point is trivial, and you get to enjoy seeing the Lakers miss out if you get there. Definitely better to make it, that's what you kept Al and Sap for.

i'll always prefer playoffs - even if it is just to see the jazz play 4 more games. i'll take any extension of the jazz season that i can get.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Or neither.

Warriors are considered to hold on to their spot because, after they finish the current 5-game road trip they're on, they have more home games remaining than any other team in the league (followed closely by the Spurs iirc)

Guys, I really don't want this to turn into another Jazz v. Warriors flame thread.
