Good point. That Steph Curry guy wouldn't help this team at all. He's awful and having a really bad season.

Sure. He'd absolutely be the difference between a 8th seed and a 7th seed.

Differences between Monta and Curry

Monta: sucks, hope to god he opts out

Curry: allstar, building block

I do not understand how you can go from a "youth movement" guy to a "content with 8th seed" guy because we picked up JJ freakin Redick. Would we be better with Curry and Tobes? Maybe not, but they are young guys you can help a team grow with. 2 weeks ago you would've been flipping chairs if we traded Tobes for say Jared Dudley. The turn around is pretty fun to watch. It's like GOS/Bogut funny.

By the way, some of you guys do suck the nuts of Golden State pretty hard here. Just so you know, I've been a coach, scout and a big part of the GSW front office the last couple years. Just sayin.

The Rockets turn assets into James Harden.

The Bucks turn assets into Monta Ellis and JJ Redick.

Hard to imagine why the Bucks have only advanced beyond the first round of the playoffs once since Nellie was ran out of town.

Again, I like Redick. I kinda feel bad for ripping this trade so much because I genuinely like him as a player. But there's just no defense for it in my opinion, not when the market for similar players was much lower and not when every team in the league flatly refused to pay the price Orlando wanted.

DrugBust wrote:Get a grip. The Bucks aren't screwed because they dealt Tobias Harris, just like they're not screwed if they moved anyone on this roster, or hell, if they sign Redick. They didn't even screw themselves dealing Bogut. Harris was, at best, the 5th most important piece moving forward on a team that's going to struggle to hit .500. When the Bucks make a move that costs them a top 10 player wake me up.

I agree with what you're saying if Im assuming as u are that Harris is 'at best the 5th most important piece on a 500 team". I think it's safe to say however that the people who are disagreeing with u so strongly are people who don't agree with that assessment of Harris' potential ceiling. We'll see who turns out to be right, but I think the time to make the final judgement on Harris ceiling and therefore who's right isn't going to be until a year or two from now.

we could have had both. im gonna keep redick out of this. its gonna look bad regardless of what happens with redick if we draft a bum in this upcoming draft.

Redick is a nice role player, a guy that would be nice coming off the bench on a team like the Spurs or the Bulls when Rose comes back or whatever contending team. Pretending he's anything more than that is a pretty silly and wishful thinking taken to the extreme. He's not a guy the Bucks should be targeting or especially signing long term for the money he wants.

You guys seem to have me lumped in with some 8th seed or bust crowd. I couldn't care less about the playoffs. If it were up to me, they'd miss and we'd take our #12 or whatever pick and be done with it.

But as I've said recently, this is the first season in years I didn't come out cheering for losses in some hope of tanking. Why? Because it isn't **** possible. Not with the team we have this year. It simply wasn't going to happen. My interest in the Bucks has probably never been lower. Win or lose, I really don't give a ****. If they win, fine. If they lose, great. I honestly couldn't care less.

When the Bucks choose to get bad, I'll start caring. Or if they can pull a James Harden from their ass for an asset with value, I'm back on board.

But I just can't get worked up about Harris. He's not a PG and he's not a big and I don't think he's going to be special. Just my opinion and it seems you guys like him a lot more. So if we lose out on a non-special player, I really don't give a ****. This isn't specific to Harris; dump virtually anyone on our team and I'd feel the same way. Hell, I'd probably feel better if we moved Ilyasova for a rental we didn't bring back. That at least costs the Bucks wins and we'd be closer to tanking in '14.

I still have a small sliver of hope for next year. In my ideal world the Bucks let the vets walk, draft young guys to take their place and we tank the **** outta the season. It probably doesn't happen but whatever, something I'm looking forward seeing play out.

Yup, he's a 4th guy on a contender. Maybe he's a 2nd or 3rd guy on an 8th seed, but we aren't finding those 3/4 guys better then him to put ahead of him. He's a luxury on a team we don't have yet.

europa wrote:GOS, if you want me to praise Hammond for having the smarts to draft Harris I'll do so. That looks like it was a great pick given how good Harris has already shown himself to be offensively.

But you lose all those points and then some when you dump a 20-year-old player with so much promise, especially considering how much that kid likely could've helped your team when he was on it. But the Skiles Twins got fixated on the things Harris didn't do well in their eyes and ignored all the positive things he could've brought to the table.

This is why the Bucks can't have nice things. They just turn right around and f' em all to hell.

hammond doesnt have the midas touch of some gms in this league....and hes made alot of deck rearrangements in his pursuit of the commanded 8 seed here. im just suggesting hes done some pretty good work over the course of his 5 years here as well. theres alot of teams doing it worse.

the guy just signed an extension and his biggest offseason is soon upon us. im gonna wait to see what happens..... anxiously. the harris deal pisses me off but it doesnt change that.

You mean like letting Dunleavy walk and then trading Moute and letting a young guy (oh let's just say he'll be 21 years old for the fun of it) take over as the starter? Is that something that would fit into your ideal world?

Averaging about 15 and 7 through two games with Orlando so far. Good stuff, I'll admit. I'm trying to think of the last Bucks forward to put up those kinds of numbers...hmmm...

...he was probably really valuable...

...probably devestated the franchise when we let him go for nothing...

...or for cash...

8-)

On a 53TS%.

(Disclaimer: Trading for Reddick was pointless. Hammond is dumb. Know those 2 things before flaming.)

If the Redick trade massively exposes Jennings and saves us from paying him 4/$45 in the long-run, it actually might be worth losing Tobias.

Remote and small silver lining I know.

In order to draft his replacement in '14, yes, that would have been super.
