Better Athletes NFL or NBA players?
I'm not a huge NFL fan but i was watching some of the combine videos and i was really impressed with the athleticism of a lot of these guys. Especially how fast a lot of them could move despite their pretty stocky physiques compared to how most NBA players are built at least.
Who do you think overall are better athletes though NFL or NBA players?

I think this thread shows up every year around the time of the Combine
“Let's say TPE is a big hole, Ryan Anderson is a "power plug Dick" ($21 million a year). All you have to do is use the Dick to plug in. Great trade and great deal! This is called "perfect fit" in the nba.”

NFL athletes hands down.
NBA players are weaklings and lack overralll athleticism.
NFL athletes are dudes that can bench 225 20 times, have a 40 vertical and a '11 broad jump and then run a 4.3
Only NFL caliber athlete I think that is in the NBA right now is Lebron and the only dude that would last in the NFL would be Lebron.

Re: Better Athletes NFL or NBA players?
The guys around 6 feet of height in the NFL are the best athletes hands down. Except for the players who play positions requiring a fat body.
NBA athletes who are close to 7 feet and have great strength and athleticism are definitely even better than the guys in the NFL simply because of that combination of height, strength and agility. That **** is rare.

I don't NBA big men are better than linemen that are 6'5, 6'4 and are 300 pounds and running 4.80, 4.70 and then have a vert of 35..which is the average vert in the NBA.

As a big basketball fan, I have to admit that it's NFL players hands down. The most athletic running backs and receivers in the NFL blow anything LeBron James can do out of the water.

There are very few guys in the NFL with a 40 inch vertical, even fewer that can bench 225 20 times (outside of fat linemen), and about 2 guys in the entire league who can run a 4.3. You just made it sound like every guy in the NFL is an elite jumper, sprinter, and strongman.
Guys like Westbrook, Rose and Lebron could put up elite NFL combine numbers.

Re: Better Athletes NFL or NBA players?
You're comparing Apples to Oranges here.
There is nothing on the football field that requires the eye hand coordination, finesse and dexterity of LeBron James taking the ball the length of the court in traffic for a dunk.
There is nothing on the basketball court that compares to the athletic power and strength of Adrian Peterson, fighting off tacklers on an 80 yard run for a touchdown.

Also,
If you are actually good/athletic enough to make either sport, 90% of guys go with the NBA. It just pays more, and there's more opportunity for glory and endorsements. Not to mention that you don't have to worry about concussions, blown out knees, etc at the end of your career.

100% BS
I could easily say Most NFL players could not play in the NBA too
There are many NBA players that could and HAVE played Football
Nate robinson could easily be a corner back and played in college on a FOOTBALL scholarship and walked on for BASKETBALL
Matt Barnes was a all American WR in HS
Chuck Hayes easily
Jae Crowder
DeQuan Jones
Big Baby -play FB, TE and DL in HS
Quincy Acy
Magette
Ty Lawson
Jason Maxiel
Many many SG's could be wide receivers
D. Rose could easily be a safety
Allen Iverson was a amercian HS football player

Re: Better Athletes NFL or NBA players?
Tony Douglas older brother plays WR in the NFL.Tong Douglas look small compared to other NBA players on the basketball court. You better believe point guards, shooting guards, small fowards and power fowards can play in the NFL. It''s when you try to compare a 6-2 linebacker to an nba player is were people get it wrong. There aren't any 6-2 250 players in the NBA LOL.
I didn't see any extraordinary athleticism when guys like Ronald Curry, Juluis Peppers, Antonio Gates, Tony Gonzalez, Joey Graham, Charlie Ward, Ricky Dudley, Marcus Pollard, Terrel Owens, Randy moss etc is on the basketball court. But yet on the football field they look great.
You don't know what a basketball player would do on a football field until he gets on it.

NBA players.
You have to have sick cardio to be in the NBA. NFL players wouldn't be able to hang with NBA players on the court, they would gas to quickly.
The training is different. NFL and NBA target specific muscle groups to train for their craft, but I think it would be more of a burden to be in NBA type shape, because all they do is run and run and run.

Re: Better Athletes NFL or NBA players?
Overalll I'd say the NFL, but there are plenty of players the NBA who would do just fine in pro football.
Thanks you for the memories:
Coach Phil Jackson, Shaquille ONeal, Kobe Bryant, Derek Fisher, Pau Gasol, Meta World Peace, Trevor Ariza, Lamar Odom, Andrew Bynum, Glen Rice, Antawn Jamison, Ronny Turif, Jordan Farmer

Most NFL players were former elite jumpers, Sprinters and strength athletes in college and HS. Marquise Goodwin, Trindon Holliday, Jacoby Ford, Jerome Simpson and some NFL Linemen were champion in the shot put and discus. Trindon Hollidayand Jeff Demps would smoke any guard in the NBA in a dead sprint while Marquise Goodwin would absolutely demolish anyone in any jumping contest, and lets not get into the strength and power comparison, NFl athletes are the cream of the crop in America some were elite in the world in their past athletic track careers.

I remember Joey Graham looking like a scrub in games on the basketball court. Now he's a top 5 tight end in the NFL lol. When you saw Graham play you wouldn't say wow he would make a great tight end one day in the NFL

NBA players have a better chance of making the NFL than NFL players making the NBA,,,,A GATES, MARCUS POLLARD,JOEY GRAHAM, Tony Gonzalez.
Charlie Ward didn't look athletic on the basketball court but yet dominated the QB POSITION IN COLLEGE. Which makes me believe Allen Iverson would've been a great college QB

are u crazy That is every NFL player.
There are nfl players that are not even good NFL players that are freaks.
I can find 10 NFL players that are current NFL players playing right now with 40 inch verts off the top of my head. I can find 10 nfl players with 4.3 40s off the top of my head.
I can find more NFL players with 37 to 40 inch verticals than NBA players and they weight 20 pounds more than a derrick rose or russell westbrook
40 inch verts

We are talking about athletic prowess...not skill.
I am talking about in an athletic competition like an obstacle course, weight lifting, speed etc
NFL players would dominate because there are very very very few elite athletes in the NBA when the NFL is full of them and most of the dominate athletes in the NFL don't even play because they don't have any football skills what so ever.
