Will Dalembert make the right decision for once?
In this offseason Samuel Dalembert once again becomes a free agent, we or I've always thought that he was going to sign with us, he said he was interested in our game and said it suited his style.
In his last pay check he went for the "money" option, where he took 7 million and mostly was riding the pine in Houston, and was trade to Milwaukee, in Milwaukee he is riding the pine again coming in as the 3rd or 4th big man.
We all now he still has game, do you think he'll finally make the right decision and sign for 3 million and get a starting role in Miami, or will he once again sacrifice playing time and potentially a ring for money?

This time, considering his age, i doubt he gets another 7 per year deal. So if the difference is between 4-5 Mil from a meh team, or 3 Mil with us...i think he'll be a Heatler. He's also hating being with the bucks, a boring team and he's not playing enough. So he's propably appreciating what we can offer - playing time and play for the championship.

He didn't want to be here so I don't want him here.
Can you believe having this guy asking for money on a team of players that sacrificed money to play together? I can't imagine that going well in the locker room.

Personally I'm inclined to agree with the bolded, as far as the team they understand this is a business, I dont think any of them took it personally that Dalembert decided to go for the money first go round.
My question is do we even need a Dalembert type player at this point? Good rebounder but defensively I think the energy and mobility of Birdman and Joel trumps one Dalembert.
edit: on 2nd thought. As a starting C I think Dalembert would be good option to slide Bosh down to the 4, but I'd like to keep Joel and if possible Birdman too.

I could see him coming here if he gets bought out, as a deep playoff run would probably be of benefit for impending free agency. He just got suspended for a team violation.
Then again, it's shaping up that we'll meet Milwaukee in the first round, so I highly doubt they even give him the opportunity to sign with us.

Would he even play for us? I think Birdman is better than him. There's not a lot of spots in the rotation right now. I don't know that he's better than Joel at this point--particularly because he wouldn't know our defensive system.
I don't know to be honest what we'd be looking for with that final roster spot. I could see us just leaving it empty.

He just asked for a buyout...Milwaukee declined, but he's been blowing off the team since they told him no. Got suspended for it
I think we all know where this is going....

This is what I was getting at. Signing Dalembert in the summer when he could get acclimated to the system and become a starter, ok I've got no problem with that. But what purpose would there be in signing him with a month and change before the playoffs, he's not necessarily a utility guy like Turiaf where you dont expect much except energy and a blocked shot or two.

Never really saw what people liked in this guy, esp if we can keep Birdman and he gets his legs back.

The guy had a 35 points (17 for 21 shooting), 12 rebs game in 27 minutes just three weeks ago. I don't know if Joel Anthony has scored 35 points the entire season. It would be silly not to pick him up if he shakes loose (I'm saying if he gets bought out this season.) Reward far outweighs the risk.

Never saw what people liked? He has legit center size and averages 11.4/11.5/2.6 per36 for his career. He'll give you boards and blocks.

I feel like he'll go for the money yet again when he becomes a free agent - not that I blame him but its what he's always done. I hope the Bucks have a change of heart and buy him out after all.

Anyway who thinks he's not better than Birdman and Joel is kidding themselves. Samuel dalembert is a much more well rounded Center than either of them. I love Birdman but offensively Dalembert is on another level, he's a slightly worse rebounder but better man defender, much better offensively too. Joel Anthony is just a really watered down version of both Dally and Bird.

Defensively Dalembert is nowhere near as agile as Joel. His ability to cover the pick and roll is underrated especially with the way this team switches everything.

I was wondering yesterday how much Anderson will get in an open market next offseason. I'd say he's been better than Camby this year so far, I'd think he could get mini MLE offers from other teams. He's not a vet minimum player yet.

Remember he was amnestied last summer, so he'll still be getting paid his $4 million salary from Denver next year as well. So that could work in the Heat's favor.

Re: Will Dalembert make the right decision for once?
Dont kidd yourself, Dalembert will still easily be the best Center on this team if he joins.
The numbers dont lie. PER of 19.7.
Per36 : 12.5 rebounds, 15 points on 57% shooting, 3.1 blocks. What's not to like.
He's a bigger, slower, better scorer version of Birdman. He's also younger so he could play stater minutes (~22) and Birdman could back him up. that would be a very decent Center rotation for us.
Really hoping he'll go ape **** crazy on the Bucks so they'll have to cut him. If not, Would really like to add him next year.

Re: Will Dalembert make the right decision for once?
Some of you guys are being awfully petty about not wanting him here because he didn't "want" to be here.
He took 14/2yrs instead of 9/3yrs which I don't blame him at all for doing.
No reason to spite our team just because you're bitter over a past logical preference.
That would be like not asking out a girl who seems really good for you because two years ago when you asked her to study chose to go on a cruise instead.
Get over it. If it helps the team, then do it. This would help the team but not sure he won't get a much better offer than us again.

Your emotions fuel the narratives that you create. You see what you want to see. You believe what you want to believe. You ascribe meaning when it is not there. You create significance when it is not present.
