These SG prospects the last two years have wracked my brain. Last year I narrowed my favorite down to Beal or Lamb, but this year? McLemore, Shabazz, Oladipo, Smart...I just don't know. Draftexpress still has Noel as their number 1, and I'm starting to agree.

I'm just not a fan of Smart. He doesn't seem elite at anything but he's just a good player that knows how to play. I don't know if I can justify a top 5 pick on a guy that doesn't have elite size, athleticism, ballhandling, shooting, or defense. He's a pretty good passer but I just don't see much room for improvement in regards to his weaknesses. I can't really get a feel for him, hopefully the tourneys will test his mettle.

If you want a 2 to plug in right away I'd lean towards Oladipo. McLemore will take some time to develop and Muhammad will have trouble transitioning to SG I think.

If you want a 2 with great upside and looks good on paper you go with McLemore. If you want to roll the dice on hype and swag you go with Muhammad.

I don't know what this team needs worse but I'm guessing it will still come down to McLemore or Muhammad with the latter having the slight edge due to personality. I can't wait for workouts.

Yeah, I look at the production of McLemore and Oladipo but I can't help but think the Muhammad is actually the best "prospect." Not because of "swag," but he just seems to have the highest ceiling IMO.

I can't put my finger on it or give a true explanation why but for some reason Muhammad is still #1 on my board and it's hard to replace him at that spot.

Chad Ford's big board has Shabazz at 8 right now. I would imagine the team drafting there would be doing back flips if that comes true. I can't justify taking Oladipo ahead of him.

Oladipo in the top 5 isn't as big of a reach as it might appear. He has elite athleticism and plays great defense. You can't really go wrong with that. The only reason why I hope we don't gamble on him is because we need an elite scorer with star potential and that's a category where Muhammad and McLemore (and even Bennett) fall into better than Oladipo.

I was coming around on Noel as my top choice before his knee injury and I'm still leaning that way as long as he heals up pretty well.

McLemore is starting to slide for me, Shabazz just doesn't do it for me for some reason, and guys like Smart/Oladipo/Bennett just don't have top 3 potential IMO

Mbakwe is handling Zeller. That pretty much sums up everything I don't like about Zeller.

Right now as of this moment I am dissillusioned on everyone top five except for Bennett, and I don't want him top three. Noel's injury coupled with his size is scaring me. Mclemore and Shabazz's lack of dominance has made me nervous. I hope Cho is studying hard, because I don't know who I want right now.

Otto Porter, Otto Porter, Otto Porter!!!!

Cho says his style is to draft for talent and trade for need....in this draft there are 3 players to look at :

Noel but he's hurt, not really a offensive player and similar to what we would hope Biz could be

Marcus Smart but he's a PG and I dont think he and Kemba could be a good backcourt due to size unless they look at trading Kemba

Otto Porter is a do it all forward that can score and defend and still can grow....

The only thing about Shabazz Muhammad that im scared of is that hes an alpha male, so is Kemba.. I'm not so sure they could coexist thats why I think Mclemore is a better fit, granted he may shrink under pressure, but thats where Kemba comes in.

I don't think Kemba has a problem deferring to a better scorer than him. I've seen him do it in his freshmen and sophomore years at UConn, and even during the NCAA tourney run in his junior year to Jeremy Lamb. I've even seen him defer to Mullens and Sessions on occasion this season. Kemba just need somebody to run with. He wants to win. I don't know why people try to portray him as a selfish player. With that said, I think Shabazz would be the decent complement to Kemba to take the load of him of taking too many shots sometimes on the offensive end. The problem is that if we draft Shabazz then we will still need a big man that can hold his own in the paint.

It is like he and Shabazz have hit a wall in college these last few games. Meanwhile Oladipo continues to do his thing.

It's funny how all these prospects like McLemore are plummeting down fan's draft boards (yet not on any single major mock draft board out there from Chad Ford to CBS to HoopsWorld, Hoopsreport, NBAdraft net etc. etc. you get the picture) yet fans would draft MKG #2 overall again today without hesitation. His stock never falls. And the kicker is these fans haven't even seen these prospects perform in the NBA for any length of time since they're college players.

That would be Nerlens Noel, 18, one month younger than Marcus Smart.
Shabbaz, Bennet & Len are 19
McLemore & Oladipo are 20.
