Clean House

Post#1 » by heffmanhere » Thu Feb 28, 2013 2:00 am

The mediocrity of this team has reached the point where it is all they know.

And with new ownership in place, now is the time to change direction.

This isn't working. How many more years of mediocrity can you really stomach?

At some point, we all say uncle.

It' time for the Raptors to say uncle and start anew.

From all I've seen, Casey is a good and very decent man; his work ethic is excellent but he just isn't an NBA head coach. Mediocre teams don't go from being good teams to being great teams with average or sub-par coaching.

Casey can't get us to an elite level, so why bother. Cut him loose and do likewise with the management team.

The new regime will inherit a decent core but more importantly they'll have a fresh start at getting this right.

And would a new management and coaching team really be any more unproductive than the current group?

The suits calling the basketball shots in Toronto have failed.

It's time to clean house.

Coaching and the roster are the teams biggest holes. Unfortunately both are required.

Blow it up.. I'm serious. Trade Lowry, Gay, DeRozan all for draft picks in 2014.

We should be gunning for Wiggins in 2014 this is disgraceful.

BC's problem was not acknowledging getting rid of Bargnani a long time ago, his second mistake was keeping Casey after the 4-19 start. I feel like following the Raptors has been a huge waste of time this season, and there's no end in sight of this terrible trainwreck.

Losing is for the best at this point. I was getting a bit worried that with our win streak Colangelo was going to snake his way to an extension. The guy is a clown, and Casey is the dumbest **** coaching in the league.

After missing the playoffs for 5 seasons, don't count on it. With every year out the desperation to end their drought will grow. We cashed in the patience chips the 2 seasons after Bosh. MLSE isn't going to give a new guy 3 more years of tanking. If BC goes, his replacement will focus on turning this core into the 8th seed

Asking the guys who created this mess to stick around pretty please to fix it...Well, it just defies logic...

What chips are we gonna cash in though? Jonas? Ross? They are pieces you build with. We just traded for Gay, you think the FO is gonna flip him anytime soon? Lowry is due for an extension next season the time to move him was...not trading our pick (even with protection 1-3, 14-30 I believe) for him in the first place. Our salary situation is meh, it's not terrible but we don't have much flexibility be any means, and Bargs is eating away caproom. We have to hope Jonas takes a Jrue Holiday-ish jump next season and DeMar continues to improve.

I'd love a pure rebuild but it isn't going to happen, we may as well try and work with what we've got.

We don't have to clean house, but Casey has lost this team. I wonder if it has something to do with playing Bargnani unconditionally? Nah, couldn't be that, players love that kinda stuff.

Oh well, gives BC a chance to throw Casey under the bus along with Bargs, making us forget about him just long enough to secure a new contract.

Playing our 3 rookies will not cause us to lose games.

Ross should see more time than Anderson, & Fields should get more minutes
Val should be playing right now & Acy is 1,000,000 times more active than Bargs
Val,Johnson, & Acy should be our bigs, with DeRozan,Gay,Ross, & Fields on the wings
We aren't OKC so we should be using our rookies to give us a boost
Look what Davis turned into with minutes, he could've of been much more if this organization wasn't so blind by Bargs

But you see, playing them could cause us to lose just as many games as we are now, either by fewer or more points. That's a risk you simply cannot take.

I feel we need a new coach. Our team is not that bad it's Casey and his rotations. If we could keep

Lowry - Lucas
Derozan - Ross
Gay - Feilds ( or some offseason acquisition)
(New starting PF ie Milsap) - Amir
Val - (Amir or offseason acquisition)

If we could do that we should be a middling team in the east around the 4 or 5 seed if gay improves to what he should be. These are all probably not going to happen though.

BC's problem is that he's still employed.

Casey's offense is terrible. Anyone thinks Lucas or Anderson get free reign if we had a REAL head coach?
