Um... to those saying Beal had an easy opportunity, he had one defender next to him and two collapsing to cut off the paint. Having drawn 3/5ths of the defense, he attempted to make the right play - passing out to a wide open shooter.

Unfortunately, his pass was off target. Despite the failure in execution though, he had the right idea.

Huh?

Seriously.

The Wizards were playing with house money. Everybody has to be down on Wall. I would have told him he will win the game with a three. I would have expected everybody to crash the 50-50 board just in case.

Counterintuitive, but Wall shooing the three early in the clock would have caught the universe by surprise. His teammates would have EXPECTED a miss. Probably would have got a rebound and a foul or a tip in. It was just a one point game.

Wall wouldn't turn it over if he shot a quick three and he definitely would have been open. It is better for Wall to miss a three than to miss a long two, also.

80s, it IS crazy but I think not a bad call, actually. I would give him a 25% chance but on a night with Detroit giving the game away I'd raise that to 50%.

Playing with house money means your ahead; not behind.

Yep. Don't think he was expecting Martell to keep moving. Tough play there.

Buckhantz must have been looking at the monitor instead of the live action.

I really thought it went in and was wondering why the players weren't excited. Buck says the officials didnt think he got it off. Then, they show the replay. Just pure hilarity.

Wall to the rack right away might not have been a bad call.

Regardless, we all agree that he threw the ball away.

Ruz, the Wizards got a clear path and the ball with a chance to win in a game they were trailing by 7 with just over a minute. THEY WERE AHEAD as far as I'm concerned. All the momentum in the world was on Washington's side.

A quick shot was the way to go (and maybe Detroit does win at the buzzer, but so what).

I had pretty much written this one off too...but it would have been great to steal it at the end, you know u have a ways to go if you have to "steal one" from the pistons. Our vaunted D hasn't been looking that great as of late.

we were lucky to be in it, not because we made the right plays when we needed to, but Wall and Okafor were pretty much ass the entire night.

Ahh ok, it appeared as though the Wizards went-through all of their options, Wall & Beal being the first two.

I've said this before, but Wall should not be closing games for us because he isn't an ISO threat with the ball when he can't get to the rim. We need one of those dart-quick PG's who can get a shot off.

Don't ever go to a casino, CCJ - just a suggestion. A good shot - whether it was quick or not - was the way to go. They tried. They failed. It happens - sometimes with an sh before the it.

Would have been better with Price at the end instead of Wall.

Yes. Last week against Toronto Wall went 1-12 with 7 turnovers.

Oh, have to throw-in the obligatory we could have taken Knight instead of Vesely. Knight is one of 5 or 6 players that I rotate that comment about.

I don't trust Wall to finish at the rack or draw a foul.

No worries there, Ruz. I learned my lesson a long time ago. I can be right many times but not when it comes to wagering on sports.
