I have to give Hammond credit. He did something that even D-Howard wasn't able to do. He made me an Orlando Magic fan. Kudos Hammond.

You seem to be having a lot of fun joking around like this so that's cool. It seems almost as though you know somebody that knows me or secretly knows me so are trying to push buttons (I see the sarcasm) but given that you have 38K posts I think I would have figured that out a long time ago.

I'd still rather him be our starting point guard now, and the past 3 seasons.

By the way. I am not getting emotionally invested in Henson. He will be gone by the start of next season for the sixth man off the Bobcats.

Seriously, even if we didn't trade Harris, we would have done him a dis-service. We just dont have a system (right now) for him to excel.

Thanks Paul for giving a reasonable response to me a few pages back.

If you didn't think Tobias had All-Star potential during his rookie season you are an idiot. It was knee yourself in your teeth obvious. He's one of the most naturally gifted scorers the Bucks have had in the last 20 years.

Knee yourself in the face if you disagree.

LMAO at the fact that you don't watch any games and you are arguing with me. You should probably give yourself a knee in the face for that as well.

You are joking/trolling in some of this I'm assuming but in your Packer draft thread and discussion of Khris Davis on the Brewer board you are gushing over some players. Did you watch all their games?

I don't even think this deserves a proper response. Still, the strawmen you thought up are cute.

That's not the point. Everyone was cool with ~9 million/year.

If you take that single occurrence into consideration then you should also heavily weight the fact that Sanders could barely find the court last year with Drew freaking Gooden in front of him. Makes sense to think that Harris barely getting minutes this year should be no indication of how good he was actually was (in practice or in games).

Also Sessions was a few years older and never showed close the natural scoring ability that Harris did.

Grendon, I think what it comes down to is this: Are u disturbed that the Bucks traded Tobias Harris at 20 years of age for a role player? If not then I think u may be trying to defend an indefensible position. It happens to the best of us buddy, sometimes u just have to admit that. I think that even Hammond at this point feels like sh*t about the trade...

Yet if he was on a 4/36 contract, you guys would all want to rip Hammond's head off right now.

For I think the 30th time on this thread, yes.

I hated Hammond in the first month of his tenure here. I'm the biggest pro-tank guy on here.

It's a worthless exercise going inside da mind of a John Hammonds. He has to be a puppet at this point. Gets paid millions to be a yes man - great job.

He showed other PG skills that everyone loved. If he isn't showing the promise Sessions did and everyone wanted to pay Sessions 9, what are you ready to go on Harris...12 or 13/year?

I guess since we are the Milwaukee Bucks we should never have high hopes for what we think is a talented young player ever again.

Maybe we wouldn't have had money for Gooden?

That may be true that we'd be better off if he had been the PG here for the last few season considering we spent those years developing Baddy who at this point looks like he's maybe a lost cause, but that's not even the point. Most people weren't mad we didn't resign him to be our starter, most were just mad that we didn't get something of value for him and let him walk for nothing. I don't think it's fair or correct to concede the point to Grendon that a lot of people here wanted to resign Sessions for 9+ mil to be our starting PG, that just isn't the case.

It just comes down to the fact that there was just no reason to push this trade. It would be one thing if Hammond didn't have an extension already (although still monumentally dumb), but at least Hammond panicking about losing his job and doing everything he can to save it fits some kind of sensible thinking pattern.

Fact is they lost a few games while Sanders was out and Herb Kohl probably pooped himself thinking about missing the playoffs again, threw a hissy fit, and forced Hammond to make a deal. Hammond is unfortunately a horrible salesman (to Kohl and other GMs). Either that or Hammond has just thrown in the towel on trying.

That Gooden deal is still one of the most hilarious transactions in sports history. Never have I ever seen such complete disdain for an obviously horrible move.
