If you take that single occurrence into consideration then you should also heavily weight the fact that Sanders could barely find the court last year with Drew freaking Gooden in front of him. Makes sense to think that Harris barely getting minutes this year should be no indication of how good he was actually was (in practice or in games).

Also Sessions was a few years older and never showed close the natural scoring ability that Harris did.

I'll happily talk about Sessions. Do you have a link to that thread?

Comparing Sessions to Harris is moronic. Harris is light years ahead of Sessions as a scorer. Tobes is still a year younger than Sessions was as a rookie despite the fact that it is his 2nd year, and Tobes has about 87 more tools in his chest when it comes to scoring.

Tobes and Sessions aren't comparable at all as prospects. Tobias has the ability to be a 20+ PPG scorer with around 7 boards at the SF position. He could reach that potential within 2-3 years. Sessions was a gigantic question mark when he left the Bucks.

Just to reiterate, if you think Tobias isn't capable of an efficient 18+ PPG in the next year or two, you are clueless when it comes to evaluating offensive talent. That may bother you. Have a nice day.

I'd still rather him be our starting point guard now, and the past 3 seasons.

That may be true that we'd be better off if he had been the PG here for the last few season considering we spent those years developing Baddy who at this point looks like he's maybe a lost cause, but that's not even the point. Most people weren't mad we didn't resign him to be our starter, most were just mad that we didn't get something of value for him and let him walk for nothing. I don't think it's fair or correct to concede the point to Grendon that a lot of people here wanted to resign Sessions for 9+ mil to be our starting PG, that just isn't the case.

The perceived value of a guy putting up numbers in garbage time was too high. That's the point.

Yes, they should have gotten something for him.

Fact is they lost a few games while Sanders was out and Herb Kohl probably pooped himself thinking about missing the playoffs again, threw a hissy fit, and forced Hammond to make a deal. Hammond is unfortunately a horrible salesman (to Kohl and other GMs). Either that or Hammond has just thrown in the towel on trying.

I think the Josh Smith trade may have masked the absurdity of this trade. The fact that the Josh smith trade fell through put this terrible one front and center for everyone to criticize. Without us without a realistic chance of moving out of the 8th seed

It's like the NBA gods decided that giving the Bucks the coin flip for the league's all time leading scorer and by extension a championship in their 3rd year as a franchise (best in all US professional sports history) was a little too much, too fast. Any decade now, there will be a chance to hope again.

For I think the 30th time on this thread, yes.

I hated Hammond in the first month of his tenure here. I'm the biggest pro-tank guy on here.

You can think this and still think Harris turns out to be a dime a dozen player that this board overrated the piss out of.

The consencus and cirlce jerking about Harris being a guarnteed 18 PPG game scorer because he's putting up numbers in YMCA caliber games is LOLOLOLOLOL. And like with Ramon by the time it's apparent that everyone was wrong we'll be on to the next one and no one will acknowledge anything. But the otherside always gets their I Told You So's in right away like when a player puts up numbers in a late February 20 point blowout loss between two teams trying to lose.

It could easily be another decade before the Bucks draft another player with the natural scoring ability that Tobias has.

The last young player we had with his type of scoring ability was Ray Allen.

Giving up a Harris or a Smith would have been equally as dumb imo. It's still another push for the 8th seed and rids the team of a young/cheap talented asset that has a ton of potential.

Ok, fair enough. I think people are reacting to the fact that your posts in this thread could be interpreted as indicating that u aren't all that upset and/or disturbed about the implications of this trade and that u feel there are comparable moves the Bucks have made in the recent past that are as bad or worse than this trade will turn out to be. I will concede that the book is far from written on Tobes' career obviously, 3 games is 3 games, so there is still plenty of info let to gather before we know exactly the degree of failure we're dealing with. That thought offers me zero comfort atm however...

In all seriousness my Bucks fandom has been on high suicide watch since the moment I first read about this deal.

I genuinely HATE us right now, sincerely. It's become impossible for my passionate fan to convince my logical brain that this franchise deserves my time, much less any money.

I see Harris as an 18-20 ppg guy on good but not elite efiicency in his prime, as I've said for a while now.

I don't know if its right to say that people are "trying to get in their 'told u sos' right away" I think it's more that people are freaking out about the early returns on how terrible a trade this may have been and the people that are trying to get in the way of those of us going through the stages of grief as early as possible about Tobes are getting trampled. The Jury on Tobes is still very much out but I think the early returns may indicate that the ceiling on the magnitude of potential failure is extremely high...
