Dwane Casey was an assistant coach under McMillan while the two were together in Seattle....

So bargnani plays 40 mpg, 25 shots a game...I am so down!

Well, for once he would be criticized by someone other than Raptors fans. For me it would be worth seeing considering not much will change with guys like Casey being heralded the latest scapegoat for this failure of a season

a fair share does go on hi though, ever after 50+ games, he still hasnt figured out the rotations, and end-game players/lineups. He's still slow on adjustments.
But he shouldnt get all of the blame, it also falls on the players and management equally.

SVG is a very adaptable coach.

His ORLANDO team with DWIGHT in the middle shot a lot of 3s, because it completely made sense. And they played good defense around him. But he also utilizes matchups well.

His very good Miami teams worked with the talent they had, and 3s were not a big part of the offense. He can adapt to anyone, and the only player who has had a problem with him was Dwightmare era Howard. And Dwight's had an issue with everyone everywhere from that point on. :nonono:

I'm a big fan.

I'm not such a huge JVG fan, though he'd be better than Casey because he'd more intelligently exploit the matchups on offense.

:(

Casey is such a great guy, and has some really good tools. But he's got to grow significantly still as a coach. This year hasn't been a step forward.
Raptors Season Ticketholder since the 2000 playoffs, through all the lows... build to the championship high... to Tampa and back again.
RIP The Hater - we miss you.

He's been to the Finals with Orlando, but he's never won it all. Heat won after he left the team under Pat Riley in 06.

SVG, is one of the coaches that might keep Bargs around. He has said some good things about him and even pushed him as an AS last year.

I dont know if that will change anyone's mind about SVG.

Come on seriously Bargnani sucks and the league knows it which is why he couldn’t be traded even though our GM spelled it out on Nat’l TV. It was more like the media asked a leading question as they often do and SVG said a polite compliment about Bargs.

The Heat team just before they won it all was also him.

Jerry Sloan has taken a team that has 1/5 the talent the Raptors have to the brink of making the western conference playoffs.

To give you an idea:
The starting five for the Utah Jazz that finished 42-40 was..

C: Greg Ostertag
PF: AK-47
SF: Matt Harspring
SG: Deshawn Stevenson
PG: Carlos Arroyo

Their 6th and 7th man was:
Jarron Collins and Raja Bell.

My most realistic option would be Butch Carter.

Sloan, Jeff or Stan, David Blatt, Brian Shaw, Alvin Gentry.

Jay Triano
All these Casey threads but I HIGHLY doubt he gets fired. BC will look like a fool hiring his fourth head coach since 2007.

If casey wasn't fired after a 4-19 start, i dont see how he is fired now / in the offseason. He sure as hell should be, along with BC, but i just dont think either happens. We've had an average attendance of 18k and what, 6 sellouts this season? The board isn't interested unless we arent turning a profit, and there is no one above BC in terms of basketball related moves. As president he isn't going to fire himself as GM, I've said this before but we need 2 different people as President of Basketball related ops, and someone else as GM with full autonomy over staff and roster. BC needs to be responsible to someone other than himself.

Stan Van Gundy or bust, if he could make Ryan Anderson look really good, perhaps he might give Bargnani a pulse.
