What about Flip Saunders? I think hed do a good job on offense with these guys, and hes had a lot of success in this leaugue. I think hed be great. He's led the wolves and pistons to their best regular season records.

Nate McMillan would be good but he runs slow paced offenses.

SVG, JVG, phil, and sloan are not going to come here.

Available coaches.

Nate McMillan
Stan Van Gundy
Jeff Van Gundy
Jerry Sloan
Brian Shaw
Scott Skiles
Doug Collins (If he leaves Philly)
Mike Brown
Sam Mitchell
Avery Johnson

The bolded names are realistic options in my opinion. I don't think SVG would come here. Brian Shaw seems highly touted by everyone and has worked under some great coaches, but he'd be a rookie coach. I'm not sure why McMillan fell from grace - he was one of the hottest coaching names at one point. If Collins leaves Philly, I can see him becoming candidate with the Stefanski connection. Philly is playing with half the talent we are and more or less share the same record.

Only Nate Mc and SVG are available winning options at this point. The offense will just be as infuriating with Skiles.

Flip Saunders sucks defensively and is overrated offensively. We still need a defensive coach if we want to win anything in the league. We just need one who understands rotations, match-ups and can come up with a better game plan on offense.

Sloan with Mitchell as an assistant

Our team is suited for Jazz style ball. Mitchell would get him to play Ross and Val. Thats all we need right now. Gritty ball and play the rookies.

One of the Van Gundys, with a preference for me of Jeff.

His Knick teams always played gritty, Riley-inspired defence but had more creativity on offence than Coach Casey's.

Here's hoping he's got an itch and likes what he sees of young Valanciunas (if it came to firing Casey).

My brother coaches division 2 midget girls basketball, and I would hire him over Casey.

I would say svg because I want an experienced guy, but to be honest the guy that I think is going to be the best is brian shaw.

SVG has not won it all, if you're thinking of the Heat, he was replaced by Pat Riley.

I don't have any names, but I'd be happy with anyone who is committed to player development without force feeding young guys minutes. I don't want our young guys to be consistently denied minutes like Ed Davis was, but I also don't want them being given minutes they don't deserve like Bargs and Demar had. There needs to be a balance between competing and developing talent. When the team has little or no chance at making the playoffs you focus heavily on developing young guys and seeing what they can do. When the team looks competitive enough to actually win a playoff series you dole out minutes to young guys more carefully. Just my opinion.

Just go to SA and point to any guy in a suit sitting next to Pop and say "You're our guy".

All-in on Stan Van. Quality coach that would still be in Orlando if it weren't for Dwight. If we're serious about making that next-step, there's no better choice.
